Chasing PA Muskies - What I have Learned About Muskies and Muskie Fishing in 2020 

Welcome to the sickness! I've been muskie fishing since the late 80's and I've found results come with experience. Knowledge is power! Keep casting and chasing these beautiful creatures.

I found this today, I had planned to be at the lake, but it is blowing 25. I have been a Striper surf caster for the last 25 years and totally addicted to chasing them up and down the coast. Then came covid. I decided to get intimate with the lake 20 minutes from home. I learned the hard way as you with nets and tools and rigs etc. Since my first Musky on 11-14 (close to new moon), I have landed 15 more, all but one by trolling larger baits. I am gonna scale down to my light surf stuff and cast more. I will also be changing up trebles , that is a great idea for smaller presentations to larger fish.

Hey Ryan....don't forget to educate your followers to the get your fish back in water in less than a minute and a half....if you have to revive a fish...you basically killed it.even if it swims away after being revived it causes a thin layer of brain damage..enough to make the fish stop feeding and then die. All from a Quebec fish ministry study. Good luck fishing this year.and don't forget...you influence a lot of fishermen. A little tip for u......if you want to catch pike over 40 inches...lake Evans in James Bay region of Quebec .I've been there twice and it's fabulous and it's not overly expensive Mark Hoel

I wish I fished enough to take into account moon phases. I fish early Sunday mornings if the weather holds and I don’t have family commitments and just hope for the best 🤣 I use a heavy bass flipping stick, 7’6” heavy with 50 lb braid and 80 lb mono with big bass baits, (5” mike bucca bull shad) plus Zman swimmerz and mag swimmerz. Nice video! I'm looking to start musky fishing this year, and your video gave me some great pointers. The only musky I've landed was by mistake while using spinners on ultralight gear.

Hey man. I just caught my first musky yesterday on a 3” gulp minnow with my medium light rod...it was 30”. Hell of a fight... I’m hooked now!! Hoping to learn a lot here with your experience

I'm at a similar point as you. I have caught 8 musky this year which ties my best for numbers, and I am striving hard for double digits!! I've fished them a LOT this year!!!! Good info!

And if you want a crack at a 50 inch muskie..the lower french. Been there quite a few times.. only place I've ever been where you KNOW your gonna catch a nice one if you fish hard and know how to fish them....deep edge of shoreline weeds

hey , ive been fishing lake arthur for quite some time and i usually go at night and fish for striper and catfish , but was wondering if there's still a decent chance too catch muskey and walley at night , and if so what are the best options of bait for night.
