Chasing Sole and Bass, Catching Eels!

After fishing a lot down Brighton Marina, a change of venue was needed. So I headed to Pevensey Bay, with the hope of maybe a bass or a daytime sole. The lovely bit of surf running gave me hopes that the schoolies might be about. I fished with fresh blacks and wild dug rag, hoping this mix of baits would lead me to catch my targets.

Those eggs are cuttlefish gem , saw them on a fish locker video about commercial cuttlefish fishing . I'm possibly going to fish Pevensey at weekend so good to get a real-time view of how it's fishing .

like the trolly Gem with those big tyres must make it easier to pull over those stones, yes bloody eels what a night mare dont think ill go to pevensey bay and fish haha like the video keep them comming!

The trolley is vital to me! Can’t carry all the gear as I am too small lol. Darn eels.

Bin looking forward to this one gem on the sole, but it wasn't to be no sole but one day or night im sure you'll get them and im still looking forward to it, Orrible pesky eels you either love um or hate and I hate them river or sea , are well best of luck for the next one gem fingers crossed

I use a bigaloo mostly but also a snug for my shorter trips or where I need to carry less weight.

I still can't get my multiplier reel from over running as i don't seem to get the magnet right ?

Sorry I thought I had replied to this! Attempt 2. Make sure you’ve the spool float set right using the knob. It should move left to right a tiny bit when wiggled. Then set the mags to max to begin with. If it’s still too fast, put thicker oil in the bearings. Perhaps practise by watching the spool carefully during the cast and remember to put your thumb on it quickly at the end when the lead hits the sea. If it fluffs up whilst the lead is still flying, gentle ‘thumb’ the spool to slow it down. IMO a smooth cast is key to keeping the reel under control. Good luck!
