Built in 1973 directly for the Bessemer & Lake Erie Railroad, SD38-2 number 878 just so happens to be the last remaining orange painted locomotive left on the Bessemer property. At one time, every engine was in the railroads famed orange and black paint scheme, but with the Canadian national takeover being over prominent now than ever, all of the other orange locomotives have been shipped off to other parts of the expansive CN rail System. 878 itself was shipped off the Bessemer property but recently returned in December 2023 after SD38AC 868 and SD40T-3 905 were sent out. This video will show my semi-recent coverage of 878 leading trains around the property as well as BLE 862 in its fading DMIR paint job, and some shots of the big CN SD70M-2s hauling iron ore south.
Sorry for the lack of uploads recently, life has been very busy and I've had literally zero time to sit down at my computer and do anything.
Wether it be work or school keeping me on my toes, or time out with the girl, friends, or fam, I've had little time at home or out trackside. I have some big plans for the summer, and with crunch time for finals upon me this will likely be a slow time for uploads as it has been.
