Thanks for your videos; especially London and surrounding area. We have made several trips to London from Vancouver and have yet another one coming up in October. Your videos are among the top London videos; well produced and narrated in all respects. After seeing so much of London on past trips, your info is for informative and inspirational; helping us to find many things to do and places to visit that we either missed or ignored in the past.
Loved your 'casual stroll' back to Westminster Abbey. Also, I HAVE heard of the café in the Royal Opera House, though I cannot remember from where or whom, and it's definitely on my todo list for my next trip to London.
This was an incredibly useful and informative video. We made our itinerary for Europe last fall and then typed a request in chat gpt and the results were very similar. We also tried it out on the local area in San Francisco and it was a good suggestion. So from now on, I’m probably going to use chat gpt to start my planning and then adjust it for what we want. Thank you for sharing this!!!!!
Hi. Great video. When you first said that you were doing a video with a concept that you haven’t seen others do, I wasn’t sure what to expect and I definitely didn’t expect this. You always have such great content x
@@SuitcaseMonkey - I think you are absolutely right, because I haven't seen them before either. Great job mate. This concept will do so much for a lot of people, especially when they pair it with the wonderful ideas and content you have given is over the years.
Now THAT was fun! A great idea and new option, as well. Grandkids get older and I run out of ideas for what to do this week. Now, I am on Trip Advisor fairly often and did not know that this was a new update. Will I find it and use it successfully? Thanks!!!
another great video Paul. Thanks for the heads up with Westminster Abbey and the rooftop Cafe, I'll be checking that out and I might even pay £20 for those delicious looking fish and chips👍
Hi Paul, love all of your videos! I have been working with AI and travel for the last year it was great to see such a balanced experiment. The quality of the video was also so well done!! Thanks - Kirk
Thanks from Sydney . Our retirement village Tech Discussion group have taken up the challenge & now introduced to your amazing video travel portfolio .Thanks again .
OMG - just tried it. It's amazing. Planning for Albanian road trip and Dieppe weekend. Of course I have local knowledge of neither but that's all part of the fun. Thank you.
Loved the video! Actually had just seen Yes Theory‘s video where they used chat gpt to find the best things to do in Tokyo so was fully invested in the topic 😄 I will definitely try this for my hometown. Btw, I planned my last trip to London collecting tips from Tavel influencers living in London and all of them suggest the terrace on the royal opera house 😉 but that brought me to the idea that it would be fun to test travel influencer guides vs chat gpt guides - maybe for a specific area of London?
This was brilliant! AI planned an epic day and you captured it wonderfully! Loved the range of major sites and nooks and crannies. Quite the smart tour guide. Will consider for upcoming trips. 👏
Love the interesting choice of video. Fun! Also as a side note, we were just in London a few weeks ago and got to skip the queue at Westminster entirely because we had a booking. Maybe it just depends on the day and who is working. Not sure but we were thankful.
A very interesting video that raises so many possibilites with A.I. Travel being one. Great work with this video. As the technology gets better , the nuances of travel will be detected more and more. in this video. Sending you Best Wishes and Continued Success 💖💖💖💖 . Jim and Harriet Richmond, Va.
If you are looking for something a little bit more analog, I recommend "Reiseführer des Zufalls", a book that encourages you to explore your surroundings and can be used for any place you are visiting.
I guess I was lucky last year when I went to Westminster Abby. I didn’t think about getting the tickets online. I just went and the line was short. I got right in.
Fun video! As someone who starts queuing outside the British Museum at 9:30 and then spends at least 5 hours in a selected area, I couldn't squeeze it in a day's itinerary. Covent Garden is insanely busy on Friday and Saturday from around lunchtime onwards...All in all an interesting experiment but ChatGPT misses all important details such as queueing times or finding the best spot to watch things, because all it does is cuts and pastes bits of generic info and presents it in a coherent manner. It must have found the ROH roof terrace recommendation on some influencers account. Shame it's crowded now.
Just FYI, the only way to "skip the line" in Westminster Abbey is if you enter with an accredited London Blue Badge Tourist Guide, as there is a separate entrance. ;)
Hows that for something different. I have walked past the opera house many times and I did not realise it was free to go into and get coffee. Next time drive it down to an area such as Covent Garden and see what it might produce/ Well done on the video.
I found the ticket prices at St. Paul’s cathedral pricey although it is worth it so we went there for mass for free! It was quick and we got to explore the cathedral for free!
I burst out laughing when you commented: "For dessert, if you are partial to some dough with a hole in it, then I'd suggest, a Doughnut." Suitcase Monkey, your videos are very enjoyable as well as informative.
Inspiring! I will try the AI approach for the next country I visit in the middle of a six month round the world journey. Would be great to take some of the planning pressure off!
Excellent content concept. Question: did you plug in the date of visit ? I ask this because when I visit a city I look at what special events are taking place the… including concerts festivals cooking classes art classes and farmers markets.
Good point. I didn’t, no. Would be interesting if it’s picks that up but again it’s data point cuts off in 2021 so unless it can pull from an up to date feed…
I’m glad you tried it, I have been wondering if AI will really work for traveling. I assume it is better for big cities but could have more glitches in smaller places: Thanks for the video.
Hello Suitcase Monkey That was an excellent idea for a video. Borough market is must visit everytime we come to London. Sandra loves a grill cheese she is going to give it a try. We are going to go the opera house. The Ai did get some of the info wrong but did a pretty good job. 40 minutes in Westminster Abby not enough time so much to see. We will be in London on May 1st. Are you doing anything special for coronation? Thanks for the video. Take Care Chris and Sandra of Canada.
Thank you for pulling this together and producing a balanced perspective on the AI driven tour. Overall pleasantly surprised but for me here is what is missing and AI will not replace . It’s all about soul ( sorry mr Joel) , you bring this in “spades” to each of your reviews and it’s simply why I am an avid follower , have.a wonderful weekend , ps more Canada please kind regards John D
I wonder if you could use image generator AIs for map creation or a better direction app. Would it pull up data from let's say google maps? I think that could be really useful especially for tourists.
Shouldn’t there be 2 queues 🤔. I didn’t know that’s why it was crowded when I went to an exhibition near Buckingham. I’d call the “British” Museum infamous tbh and I don’t think I’d ever promote it unfortunately.
we're all doomed....DOOMED I tell you! 🙂 I spent many years in London and although wouldn't have been my suggestion, it's very interesting and not far off. I now live in Edinburgh and....I'm curious. 🤔😊
Interesting concept. However, I cannot get my head around the curry sauce as "almost the law" with fish and chips. This is an ex-pat and ex London dweller saying this who is also from the North.
I've seen a couple of videos like this recently. It's an interesting concept and I've used it for myself to get some inspiration for an upcoming trip to London and Oxford. For me, it doesn't replace the old-fashioned Google search, but has provided some interesting starting points for a search and saved me some time.
