Another James Hamilton here! I grew up in South Africa. I always wondered what happened to the Palace. Now I know - that subsidence is a bugger!

I am afraid you have got it wrong pall, Hamilton Palace did not sit between Chatelherault and the Mousoleum. When looking from where you were standing, the Palace stood a little to the left and a little behind the Mausoleum. Just about in the area where the golf course begins. If i am wrong then i would like someone to correct me, i am 83to and my memory is not as good as it used to be. And I was born in Hamilton.

Last time I was here, it was still in that ruinous condition...another visit is long overdue, am prepared to be gobsmacked at the changes!

I’m Clan Hamilton, my grandfather was Lincoln Mingus Hamilton. Genetics show my Clan was originally from Glasgow.

I took an ancestry test and learned I was related to this family from my moms side. I took the test a few times to see if it was false but it was consistent with this family All I know is that they were rich and we're of high royalty but I don't know if this is the exact family, idk if there were more rich hamiltons
