I have heard that the AI programs on offer right now are very invasive if you sign up to try them. For example: getting into email and contact lists and other areas that people may want to keep private. Is this true or scare tactics? I started to try a Chat GPT but chickened out .
Good question. Any and all non-ai apps you install on your phone ask for permission to access your contacts, microphone camera and photos. Even my water drinking tracker. They are all taking our private data one way or another. Chat gpt is a web interface at the moment and as such you don’t need to enter many details to sign up so it’s the least of the bad offenders. But yeah scary tactics will abound from every corner. When the web became a reality every other newspaper story was about how the web was evil and kids could learn how to make b0mbs. Now every newspaper makes money online from views.
