You can hear children screaming and crying in the background of some of these broadcasts, and the trembling voices of the officers. My heart goes out to all emergency personnel who responded, and all of the children and their families.
Katrina Perez She being the police dispatcher? If so, I agree. It's actually shocking just how dispassionately some of these dispatchers are able to do these jobs. But from my experience as an EMT, if you listen long enough, you can hear subtle changes of emotion in their tones, calmer if they're dispatching something simple like respiratory distress or chest pain or an alarm system, more excitable and panicky dispatching things like a gunshot wound, cardiac arrest, or large rescue assignment on a highway like I-95.
How all the first responders and dispatchers remained so calm is so impressive. I know they'll have to deal with it later when they get home, etc. they'll never forget this day. Prayers to all.
Being a HAM operator and COM Lead & Net Control for our local CERT group I was fairly impressed with her handling of the incident. I have not had a chance to talk to her to get her take on what it was like to handle the traffic and event.
Wow ! She did a totally great job ! We're all impressed with her calm and collected demeanor. Talk about high stress, a school bus with kids in it overturned is scary. I'm a Ret. Police Officer and have to wonder how would I have done in this horrible situation ! I understand 6 children were killed in this wreck, six innocent kids...so sad. I can hear them asking for Chaplin"s to respond to the scene, what a sad, sad incident.
So sad and preventative! I can't say it enough I wish no parent (s) would have to experience the death of their CHILD/CHILDREN...that pain never ceases and to add to dismay to lose in tragedy IS UNNATURAL
My heart goes out to all the family who loss their babies I like to thank all of the police officers emergency personnel the 911 dispatcher for a job well done this was a very hard time for them all they work together two get the incident done well I hat goes off to All of the police that was their thanks a lot for caring for them babies and family you did a wonderful job thanks against Chattanooga for handing in their with all of the family's
Tyler Knecht Oh God, you're right :( Seeing the pictures and news reports is bad enough, but when you hear these radio transmissions from when it actually happened, it makes you fully realize just how horrific it actually was.
