Protests have erupted against the expansion plans for the Gevra coal mine in the eastern province of Chhattisgarh, posing challenges to Coal India Ltd’s ambitions to increase its annual capacity to 70 million tons. The proposed expansion would establish Gevra as the world’s largest coal mining operation. However, the residents in the vicinity of the mine have raised concerns regarding air pollution, groundwater depletion, and fair compensation for land acquisition.

@@krypton3029 its about intial cost vs long term cost. Nuclear has high initial cost but very very high energy output and clean energy. It won't affect the regional precipitation rate as well as air pollution hence no negative impacts on regional farming and no impact on food prices.

Locals ke kuch demands bilkul faltoo hai. Mein personally NTPC, SECL ke kayi locations mein kaam kar chooka hoon. PSUs mein land ke badle aise locals ko job milti hai jinneh kaam karne ki na koi dil hai na kuch aata hai. 8 hrs sirf time pass karte hai ya executive level ke officers ki baatein sunte hai 😂 Lekin salary 50000 se jyada hoti hai . utni salary toh engineering graduates ko campus selection mein bhi nahi milti unless woh IIT ya NIT se ho. Ek NTPC plant mein aise sau ya jyada employees mil jaayenge jo unproductive hai. Contractual mein jaayenge toh locals kaam nahi karte jitna outsiders karte hai. Lekin politics khelne mein sabse aage rehte hai. Odisha, Jharkhand, WB, CG mein ishi liye pvt firms locals ko hire karne ko prefer nahi karti.

जब पेड़-पौधे ही कट जाएंगे तब लोगों के पास ऑक्सीजन लेने का जरिया रहेगा। नहीं तब ऑक्सीजन भी मार्केट में बेची जाएगी। जैसे पानी की बोतल बेची जाती है। एक बोतल की कीमत तब हजारों में होगी। यह अब हमारा ऑक्सीजन का भी कीमत लगाएंगे। सरकार डेवलपमेंट के नाम पर बहुत कुछ उजाड़ रही है। लेकिन जो लोग बहुत ज्यादा पढ़े लिखे हैं, वह भी कुछ नहीं करें। उनका इस तरफ ध्यान ही नहीं जा रहा है।

Most of the forest covers of india is concentrated in coal mining belts and north eastern states. Destroying the forest cover will have a cascading effect on environment and rural economy. Also govt has declared its decarbonising goal recently. So government should focus on renewable projects and goal of achieving net zero. Just a thought 💭. Already experiencing rising temperature and erratic rainfall, drying out of paddy fields in assam. Unable to sow paddy seeds till now as rainfall is merely 10-20 mm in the last 20 days.

In chhattisgarh, during BJP rule, a lot of outsourcing was done.which Resulted in exploitation of local ppl. In all those mines, most of the workers , from gate keeper, guards to upper level. Most of them are outsiders. These natural resources are used for other states development. And ppl call it cg a gareeb state.. this is general thing here. Most of the pvt organisations, daily wage worker. Mostly its outsiders.. ask any local chhattisgarhi ppl they will say the same and pll from other state will get offended but being local resident here.... Its true..... Unfortunately.

This is how it usually goes. 1. A massive wide scale project is undertaken without any sustainable development. 2. Large forest area is cut-down. 3. Drought and heatwaves occur. 4. Farming produce is reduced significantly. 5. Price increases significantly. 6. Regional temp increases significantly. 7. Rainfall disturbed for long term.

BC education is free in most of the chattisgarh school or it's highly subsidized,still students bunk the class;use it only for mid day meal. They consistently fail in subjects and due to government intervention teachers are forced to pass them from one class to another. Rest first look population from chattisgarh in diffrent states,you guys aren't ashamed to go in diffrent states but ready to ridicule others if they come for employment.
