The run he had from July 2015 to June 2016 was ridiculous. The wild card game @ Pirates was an amazing performance by Arrieta. Had 2 solid games in the 2016 World Series as well (games 2 & 6).

He's essentially a glorified Philip Humber, while Humber had a few masterful games including a perfect game they both essentially were overrated pitchers that caught lightning in a bottle except Arrieta caught it for 2 years.

True, but you can’t forget about what he did in 2014 as well. That year was when he emerged on the scene as a top starter, but 2015 overshadowed it, because this was his historic season. A lot of people forget it started the year before though.

@@fallen4life080 Phillip Humber??? Arrieta has a cy young and had a 4 year peak as a top 10 starter, Humbers career high in wins is 9 and a whooping 3.75 era as a career low. That's an awful comparison.

Jake Arrieta in the 2nd half of 2015 was the most dominant pitching streak I've ever seen. 0.75 Era for the entire second half is just insane to even think about. I used to watch every Cubs game then. I remember watching him pitch every game and it was just automatic, you know he was going to win and there was nothing the other team could do about it. The movement on his pitches that year was crazy

A perfect game is absolutely NO base runners at all. where the one pitcher gets all 27 batters out on strike outs, grounds outs, pop outs. a no hitter can still have people on base, via walks, hit by pitches, or errors by a fielder and the batter reaches.

He had like four or 5 other games where he threatened a no hitter before he was a truly dominant pitcher, and my dad and I both said he would eventually throw one in early 2014 or so. When he went from fringe star to outright dominate it was one of my favorite moments as a cubs fan. He gave everything he had to the cubs, and for that he’ll always have my respect.

He is missing that nasty slider this year. It barely moves this year and just cuts a bit. Last year, it was devastating to lefties. As a result of him not being able to throw that pitch well this year, he barely throws it. That along with fastsball command has been the reason for his problems this year. And he has still been good, but since June, he was very erratic and below average when you look at the stats.

Amparo Villanueva when the opposing team gets 0 hits. However there can be baserunners whether that be walks or errors. A perfect game is when there are 0 hits and baserunners with absolutely no errors 27 up 27 down

+Big Smooth Should have been a base hit. Errors are given when the play is simple, this was a hard drive for a base hit.

The Dodgers, Tampa Bay De vil Rays & San Diego Padres must all enjoy being no hit it seems. The Dodgers were n o hit for the second time in nine while the Cubs finally f ell victim to Cole Hamels no hitter after not being no hit f or just shy of 50 years (San- dy Koufax perfect game). Pa dres have been around sinc e 1969 & have fallen victim t en times, but have yet to thr- ow one of their own, & Tamp a Bay has been around sinc- e 1998, falling victim five tim es (including three perfect g ames) while only throwing o ne no hitter of their own (M att Garza vs Detroit, 2010).

Jake has lost so much range of motion in the throwing elbow it is not even allowing him to use his throwing motion anymore. That elbow banging is is flattening his epiphysis of the hyaline covering as he enter into and out the olecranon process. When that is gone those loose chipping pieces of his hyaline covering enables bone spurs to grow as the olecranon fractures. Andy Messersmith cannot feed himself now and the doctors report of the loss of range of motion done for Commissioner Selig in and reported in the November 4th, 2005 issue of the American Journal of Sports Medicine does even consider these as disabilities causes and cancer causing medications needed for pain like the two baseball players we all watched for years die from horrible cancers both. The amount of bone spurs now in Jake's elbow is significantly noticeable and people say I do not have an effective treatment plan nor an alternative to the butchery of the needless Tommy John Butcheries being sliced with scalpels and injected with human body dissolving performance destroying steroids and drugs, while only allowing for inflammation to go away with treating nor healing the injuries the MLBPA/USA are exposed to everyday for your viewership entertainment and the MLBOA/USA profits as they trash the baseball players everyday you idolise. The managers, catchers, trainers, coaches and team physicians and the owners can all just go to hell. You are impostors claiming to be human beings yet, I only see you as the leeches, hybrids, subhuman species, creeps and wastes of space you all truly only are..

11McBdogs -_-, just caused they ruled it an error, it does not make it the right call. An error is when a simple play is not made, this was a hard line hit to the second baseman, it was a base hit. Umpires gave jake the free no-hitter.

Arrieta looks like he's ready to bust out of his shirt at any given time. And I find it funny that the report comes out about his suspicious work rate like his arm never getting tired. He's on the juice and It's only a matter of time before the truth comes out. Randy Johnson was good from day one his only problem early in his career was location but the arm strength was always there not Arrieta. So stop telling me I'm delusional just because you're a fan of his and get your head out of your ass.
