This is an unboxing an install of the LASIEYO 45L Motorcycle Top Case on a 2014 Yamaha Super Ténéré. It was a super cheap solution to adding an adventure style aluminum top box to my bike. Link to the product: www.amazon.com...
Had a dealer said to me oh those amazon Chinese made accessories are garbage they’ll crack if you crash lol I said to him well if I crash hard enough to knock the box off the bike the box will be least of my worries, then he tried to sell me a box for $1100 plus tax lol.
Dude, what the hell! I’m a mechanic and I build houses from the ground up! This damn thing the screws that have it attached to the plate just keep spinning and spinning. There’s no way to get the nuts off! What the hell?
Good review, how long have you had this case and how's it doing now? Nevermind, I just saw your review on Amazon. Looks like you just got it on the bike.
@@lukegenesis no, just been using it... its pretty decent.. It still smells funny inside it... If I were you I might look for something better. The locks and latches are pretty janky. It's defiantly cheaply built.
I bought one from Motea for £174. Absolute bargain until UPS demanded £45 import duties. Thanks very much Brexiters and welcome to the new normal of not knowing whether you'll get charged fees to bring things in from Europe. The irony is, these are made in China and if imported directly then there's no duty. Go figure.
Was looking for a review about this case. It was the first to pop up on my search and on the bike I have which is awesome. Thank you for doing the install as well. Look forward to seeing the after summer update.
I appreciate the video I just ordered mine off the Amazon I paid 239 on special from 2 59 99 and it does come with a backrest same one you got but they just stuck the back piece back on now
Very nice, everything from china is NOT junk, everything is made in china anyway, I’ve purchased a lot of stuff from china that was good quality, I don’t care where it’s made as long as it’s good and the price is right
a couple of things, yeah u can buy it with a backrest, just follow ur own link, second thing, really dont go buy cheap boxes from china then complain the hardware and the cheap locks, what did you expect
@@dingalsbe88 I have the 65 litre model, and I don't have any major complaints so far. You just have the make sure that you're buying one of the genuine aluminium ones and not one with a plastic body that looks very similar I think. Would I take it around the world? Possibly not, but most "adventure" riders don't do that either so this is perfectly adequate. I only have 3 complaints, albeit minor ones. 1 - The locking mechanism on the bottom is allowed to just dangle when the box is removed from the bike, which means it could be broken if it's placed on the ground when full of luggage or accidentally dropped. If I remove mine I always place it down on the front so the locks are facing the sky. 2 - The hook for the bottom locking mechanism is held on with three standard bolts, so anybody with a 10mm wrench can walk up to your bike, loosen the nuts and take off with your box. But is that really any different to any other part of your bike? If somebody wants your exhaust they could just unbolt it and walk away with it. 3 - The supplied mounting hardware is quite soft, and I found that I stripped a couple of the socket heads when installing it without using much force. I replaced them with stainless hex bolts and nuts that I already had.
@@jordanblair5410 He means when the box isn't attached to the bike. I'm also using a similar box on my 650 wee. But when the box is removed from the bike and placed on the ground, the latch for the mounting lock extends beyond the bottom of the box and could be damaged if you drop the box or place it on the ground when it's heavy with luggage.
