while the numbers are flashing, 9 to 1, during the start press it 3 times and you can change to FPS. When SU flashes you can modify the weight to get joules. I believe the weight is in grams. single press up 1.0, double press down .1.
Thank you for that. The 10fps correction is a bad idea. It really should be a ratio or % error correction. 10 fps only applies to your specific velocities. Also at this level and price point we are more interested in repeatability than absolute velocity. So in reality all three chronos you tested are equal if you are comparing rifles, ammunition, and the results of tuning mods. If you want true accurate absolute velocity be prepared to spend a fortune - like $5000
could it be reading a slightly lower velocity because the chinese one is going directly from the muzzle vs the chrony that is a few feet away? could the pellet be speeding up? i have no idea how the balistics work, but for me for £30/$30 is well worth it the peace of mind of knowing that my rifle is under the legal limit (the UK has VERY strict laws on this matter). ive ordered one thanks to this video
I just want to tune my aea challenger pro and tune it for heavy slug shooting but I really don’t want to spend a bunch of money on a chrony so I hope it works
Interesting looking little unit. Can you see over it with your optic? Can the Chinese be switched to feet per second? Many of the shooting chrony have fps and meters in them. Does your chrony have a function button in addition to the on/off switch? If it does have a function button, holding that button down while turning on the unit, should toggle between fps and mps.
@@cheapairgunner1966 holding the button down on the Chinese unit for more than 3 seconds turns it off? On the "Chrony" brand the fps/mps is switchable by holding down the function button when turing on.
Yes. I’m not sure if a series of short presses would lead to different results. I haven’t finished translating the manual yet. Hoping something may be in there.
I apologize but the only place I received this comment was on my RU-vid Studio app and there’s no way for me to tell which vid you’re referring to. If you can post another reply mentioning which product is being talked about I can post back up. Thanks.
They're on Amazon. They have different brand names on Amazon but they're all exactly the same. Probably all made at the same factory but sold by different vendors so they gave them the brand name they wanted,
