Oh wow that noise is insane! Good to hear what I sound like at the other end of the contact! You guys were much easier to hear my end with less QRM!

You sounded great and at times we had 0 noise but not when you were on, thanks Hayden.

Thanks for sharing your antenna build and the secret handshake to insert the bolts in the mast. The qso with the Australian station has sold me on the performance of a hexbeam. I will be building my own hexbeam now.

Everyone I know that has a HexBeam love them, one guy has a rotator on the ground so he can rotate his beam and it works wonderfully. 📻

I have a tv rotator that I may take next time. They are great antennas, always loud on the bands. Thanks for the comment.

As I work in TV land just love the soft focus of the BGs and the prime cine lens look at the top of the shoot, being a location soundy always sucks when a nosey vehicle passes by , I always feel the hate come down on me, from the rest of the crew when I call "Hold for Sound" on set. Sorry peps back to number ones and lets go again LoL Lucky I have big shoulders eh. Well done on your Hex build, Lusting after the new Buddipole Hex , but moon beams to land at the ass end of the South Pacific Ocean in little old New Zealand, Oh how that area reminds me of my many times at Burning Man. Regards and 73's from the ZL1 land down under dude.

Awesome Chuck. This is definitely on the list. I will use tent poles as I can now steady them based on my experimentation with my 10 and 15m Moxons. I might not go the full hog and just make it 15 through 10.
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Год назад
I think the poles I used might be lighter but the consistancy was not good for the way I printed them to fit over top like a ring. I know you will do a great job!

Phil at other times the noise was really low, just bad when we tried Hayden of course.

That Buddihex of mine does bend the pole quite a bit if you don’t guy it aggressively. The antenna is light but hella-wide…so…the arm on that thing makes the ftlbs of weight higher than it seems it would. That’s a nice build, I’ve run that through my head a few 100 laps too, but ended up buying the sure thing. Nice job and commitment.

David I need to guy the pole next time and it should be good. Buying sometimes makes it nice Lol and who knows I may later but I think I will tweek this one some more first.

Hello, Newer subscriber here. I enjoyed the video very much. I looked over the website and I think I’m going to endeavor to build one of these. Been using an end fed antenna with decent results but I have been fascinated with hex beams for a long time and this looks like it’s something I can tackle and get some good results out of it. Thanks for sharing and inspiring me. I’ll let you know what I come up with and send some pics when I’m done. Thanks again and 73. K4RUR

Thanks Lowry, if you stick to the instructions and parts they recomend it will be easier, and after looking not much more money.

Nice. Spider beams are good...I have one up now. There is a US distributor. I have hesitated with Callums stuff only cause of shipping right now has been pricey. I have really wanted to try a hex but the amount of work and he weather where I live I keep thinking I would just walk outside after a storm and just find a bunch of frozen wires on the ground. If I was more south i would be more inclined to try. I have been noticing there are getting hard to buy...dxengineering seemed to have stopped selling theirs. Anyway great vid.

Nice job Chuck! So by the looks of it, it's omni directional. I was thinking because the name has beam in it that it was directional. Pretty amazing that you got Hayden with it! Are they a noisy antenna?
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures
@KK6USYHamRadioAdventures Год назад
No it is a 2 element beam and the noise was the area , these antennas are usually really quiet.
