ALOHA🌺 We took you on a foodie adventure to Kalihi in Honolulu of Oahu, Hawaii to places that our foodie ohana has recommended to us! We tried Richie's Chili, boneless chicken and smoked meat plates and at Kalihi Bar-BQ's famous chicken katsu. And to end the night we got dessert too!

I really enjoy your natural A & F eats viewings. I haven't been to Oahu for years but will soon visit all the cheap eats and low or high key places. I miss Honolulu cruising like I used to do when I lived there. Thank you for making me smile and laugh when you folks go cruising to check places like I use to do. I'm local born from Hilo and our orchid island. I'm FilAm Chinese Scottish Hawaiian born and raised been half way around our world and have experienced many beautiful and seemingly magical places and things. Your viewings are similar to what I and I'm sure many others really enjoy venturing. Aloha from Hawaii our beautiful big island and me!

Mahalos for all the food reviews. It helps save a lot of time and money for many of us. Looking forward to coming back home spending time with family and friends and enjoy all the ono grindz I grew up with, like I used to when swinging by Rainbows for a boneless chicken or BBQ steak plate after longboarding town after a good sesh. Variation on your pro-tip: Whenever I get take-out with something fried (i.e. katsu, fried chicken, etc.), I lay a few napkins over the top of the fried food as soon as I can (preferably at the counter) before starting the drive home. This way, the food stays as warm as possible with the lid closed and the napkin absorbs the excess steam and the crunchiness stays crunchier. #AmandaandFelixEats

Went to both of those places when I visited my Mom in March for her 96th birthday. Her favorite place to go to is Stadium Camilla Restaurant. She has her picture on the wall.

Oh wow the chicken katsu looked fantastic 😍 I love that there are so many drive in places there that have plate lunches, we don’t have that in Australia. At least I’ve never seen any. Love these plate meals they all look awesome.

Next time you gotta try RICHIE'S Combination Plate and compare that to RAINBOW'S!!! I LOVE RICHIE'S DRIVE INN, I grew up in Kalihi and been eating there from the late 80's. I ate at Rainbows too but overall I swear, if you eat the same plates from RICHIE'S and Rainbows, I'll bet RICHIE'S will taste better!!! Yup and I agree RICHIE'S chili is second to ZIPPYS!!! Keep up the food video reviews!!! MAHALO!!!

Love me some Plate Lunch, I would take it over fancy food everyday. No celery in Spring Rolls. The Chicken Katsu looks really Ono. That was too much Onions, needs more Guava Smoked Meat. I love the hole in the wall, low key places. Just how I roll. Mahalo and Aloha.

Volunteer Ornithologist Consultant Report: 3:41 mark Red-Crested Cardinal in left edge of frame foreground, Common Mynas in background same side of frame. 3:57 mark our Red-crested Cardinal friend is center frame between Felix and Amanda. 4:08 mark Zebra Dove flys in from left and lands on right side of frame then hangs around and walks closer during video appearing center frame by 7:39 mark. Common Mynas remain active in background and 6:16 mark they are center frame and getting closer. Red-crested Cardinal is back at 7:34 mark on right side of frame.9:43 White Rock Pigeon flys from center to right side in distant tree line along road. I think that is a Cattle Egret at 13:05 in the back right corner walking in front of the cars in the parking lot. Yes! it becomes five Cattle Egrets! 19:28 mark White Rock Pigeon flys across right side of frame. End of report. @Amanda & Felix Eats feel free to delete this if you feel it is off brand.

Have you guys tried Champions Steak & Shrimp at Royal Hawaiian Center food court? I was there 3 weeks ago and I was really satisfied taste wise and price wise ($14.64 tax included). They deserve some love.

Been going to Richie’s for over 30 years. Cheap and good food. Nanas been there forever. Richie’s is named after the Owner’s son. The owner is Korean. Richie was a baby when they opened and now I believe he runs the place

I would like to add that most of our menu items recipes has been changed to my recipes. I am a KCC Culinary Graduate. Grew up on gulick and that areas food fed me through my childhood. Gulick Deli, Kalihi BBQ, The Pastele Shop and Tasty Chop Suey loved all of those spots.

Kalihi BBQ was one of the first restaurants I went to when I moved to Oahu from Moloka'i. I was staying with friends at KPT down the street and would walk over and speak/practice Chinese with the owners. I miss that place. But never had Richie's, so definitely need to add that to my queue. And how have we not run into each other yet? I was just at HMart this past week. AND I ate at Tisket Toastket, AND sat at the same table you're at. We're constantly crossing paths across the island. lol.

Thanks for showcasing Richies. I always get the the combo plate, boneless chicken, Teri beef, and fish. I think it’s better than Rainbows. Never tried the chili but that chili mix looks good. I love Zippy’s chili but if you say it’s almost as good, I’m willing to try it.

Great video! Next time try the boneless chicken with gravy all over from richies drive in. Boneless chicken is just not the same without the gravy. Also their shoyu chicken is delicious. Like the old school rainbow drive in which in my opinion is not the same as before. Also the fried mandoo plate at richies is good. Hot & crunchy on the outside. Don’t know if it’s truly authentic but whenever I go to richies I hear people either ordering the plate or side order of mandoo, so I’m thinking it’s a favorite of regulars. Keep those great food finds coming! 😋

Richies! We love going there. If you guys are in Waipahu, you should hit up B&L. It's right next to La Casita, the place where you got the pupusas. I recommend the fried fish plate and the chicken katsu. The fried fish is perfectly seasoned. So good!Cheap, decent portions and worth the money!

According to my friend, Richie's owner is from Rainbow. So, it matches the rumor you heard. And in my friend's opinion, the boneless chicken is better at Richie's. The chili over boneless chicken from Rainbow is something my two brothers swear by. That katsu with the chili move was excellent. I have to add Kalihi BBQ to my list the next time I come home. Amanda & Felix, you guys should try the chicken katsu at L&R Drive Inn in Kaneohe. One of the best chicken katsu and chicken katsu sauce on the island. Better than L&L. Also, try their spicy eggplant. Sometimes they have a daily combo special of chicken katsu and spicy eggplant. 😁

Zippys chili is not made locally that's why they don't show the process on travel or food channels anywhere. Rainbow shows the process on cooking Hawaiian style and on guy fiere diner drivein and dives. Richies is good.

Drools .Your mention of shoyu chicken kills me. I don't believe you guys have ever ordered it in your videos. My fave plate lunch. Been eating it whenever I'm over there since I was about 7 years old. My fave place for it was at Ala Moana Center. You know the place because you featured it at one point but you guys ordered something else.

Never order shoyu chicken cuz we make it at home sometimes when we crave it! But definitely one of our favorite comfort meals🤤🤙🏻
