I have been to Europe about 50x for a couple weeks to 3 months! I have only rented a car one time and that was for only 3-4 days. Sorting out public transportation for me is part of the adventure!
Great and informative video, as always. I just got back from a package tour that included flights, 1 checked bag each, hotel, hotel transfers, breakfasts, and tours to various historical sites (2 of those had lunch included!). And because I purchased it early, I saved a lot. But in future, I'm sticking to cooler shoulder/off season times. I choose to usually spend a bit more on hotels that are centrally located such that I can walk to places and not pay for either taxis or public transit.
My rule of thumb for restaurants in non English speaking countries is if you walk in/by and all you hear is English and you’re in France or Italy or Spain or …. Walk away
We just did ten weeks in the UK and Europe (six countries) with only a backpack and a Monos carry-on thanks to you and Allie. But the eSims work only if one's phone is paid off, so we were stuck with AT&T's $12 daily charge.
I just wrote a comment about this same issue with the eSIM before seeing this comment. Thankfully I did a one day test at home before committing to the ten full days I would have used it for (or not used it ) on an upcoming trip.
@@ohnurse7690 check with a T-Mobile store and give them the specific countries you’re traveling to….. many European countries have free text and data with T-Mobile and charge .25 per phone call. We are going to the UK, Germany, Austria and Switzerland…. All are covered. I travel a lot and many flight attendants have T-Mobile for the same reason.
Where did you stay in Amsterdam? Hotel? AirBnB? other? We will be there for a few days before we get on a river cruise next year. Currently booked at the Sir Albert with Marriott points
I would be careful about leaving huge tips, unless something was truly exceptional. This could lead to expectations for tips that are not part of the local culture and possibly even change it - which I'm sure that local culture will not be lining up to thank you for. It's crazy here in the US, let's not make this another US export.
My granddaughter and I did this in Paris recently. We walked everywhere and spent money on her short list and then enjoyed lots of free or less expensive places as we used your “Berlin method”. 😊 Thanks again for your helpful videos.
Nik getting ready for 1.5 months in Italy, 2 months in Dubai, and 1 month in Spain. Your videos have been invaluable including discount code to Unbound Thank you!!!!
I was surprised that in Brussels, you did not have a picture of the Atomium, related for the World Exposition of 1958. If in Paris, you would surely have shown the Eiffel Tower, also erected for a World Expo.
Why are you always looking down? Whether in RU-vid videos or in your courses videos, u r always tilting your head down. U can’t speak to the camera in leveled eyes?
That might be true for your phone, but if you google it you’ll see that it’s not true for most newer phones. Mine’s a couple of years old and it does work for me.
