I think the lifts here were originally installed by a company called Boetticher, who Thyssen acquired in the 1980s and they've since been modernised by ThyssenKrupp. I saw a sign which referred to Boetticher next to one of the motor rooms.

Those buildings are a typical example of meditiranian construction. It’s very artisan and labour intensive with all those beam and block floors. Labor is cheap in those regions. You’ll often see that they use frames with columns and beams with blockwork infill. This sort of construction approach is common in earthquake sensitive regions. It looks rough but with a bit of plasterwork it looks fancy. Still prefer this 10x more over timber framing with cheap gypsum boards that look like cardboard.
