Can you hold it in your hands when there is hot food/liquids? Does it protect your hands and insulate enough from the heat?

I definitely wouldn't use extremely hot foods in these (only my opinion). As these are ultralight food grade plastic, the heat will eventually radiate to the outside.

I love them, but am personally a little sceptical about putting really hot things in them. I only did it in the video to see if the clips would hold up.

If weight isn't an issue, you can't go wrong with metal. We grew up with really old aluminium plates that were battered but got the job done and housed so many good memories.
