Cheap Go Kart Tires : I hope this video gives you ideas and saves you some money for your next project. If you have any questions put it in the comments below!
I'm an old mechanic who has worked on a 'few tires' (sarcasm) I went out to HF and held the tire in my hand, I started digging my thumbnail into the tread, With complete ease I was digging chunk after chunk out of the tread, I could have easily destroyed this tire in minutes with no tools, These tires are not a good option in my opinion. Maybe good for a quick sale.
Correct they are dangerous and should not use or lawn mower rim or tires. 6303 is the standard high speed bearing but the problem with those rims are one you will blow a bearing quick and sometimes the rim will explode. Do you want to be going 30 plus and that happen? Please protect the kids and yourself. Buy from a go kart supplier not amazon or ebay because they buy these and resale. I put the 6203 in a lawn mower rim just to be able to move it when waiting for replacement but not to be rode.
Someone going to get hurt bad and or damage a frame. Don't use those they will break. Spend the 30 bucks! Protect the kids and be done with it. What you waste on the weekend you can get the right rim and tire.
I ride on a flat dirt track with mine I have the 5$ harbor freight ones on it and I hate the bearings I went to the hardware store and bought better bearings and had to slime my tires because of the tires being so thin it would just puncture I’ve had them on for about a month no issues riding in dirt doesn’t wear them at all
May i suggest the $10 tires from tractor supply. They look identical to your $5 tire but the bearing is WAY smoother. That $6 tire has only marginally better bearings - they’re still very “notchy”
Any suggestions for a trike axel with a left rear wheel DD type drive side axel shape, one wheel drive system? It's a 5/8 axel with an H style DD that's 7/8 on the flats. I can't find a hub to fit it.
I get the 5$ tires with coupon for 3$ i put them on my drift trike only need 2 but im going to try the 6$ tire cause idk i think i weres slower and i can fit pbc on it better
Anyone please help me im tryn to get a new setup for my back tire go kart has the same style he shows here but I think my rim is bent how do I connect the sproket and the adapter? Really want to convert to hubs how would I
these harbor frieght wheels are pretty good but I barley hit 30mph and was only driving for less then a hour and the tire snapped off the bearing/hub and same with another set of harbor frieghts be careful going fast on these.
im hoping you can help me i cant find any videos on these on go karts but i got the 5 dollar tires and since they have no key slot how am i suppose to mount those tires to a live axle?
I bodged a key way type thing on the rear axle (the rear axle was a threaded rod and the wheels were like the $5 ones). I drilled and tapped a hole into the side of the axle and used an angle grinder to cut a notch out of the rim material
Anthony Aneke ive only been able to find them online at gokart supply shops.. theyre called double flanged wheel hubs. bolt one side to wheel and bolt other side to sprocket, and the axle goes through it
Is the stem touching anything whenever the tire is rotating. It's happened before to go-kart that Seen before what they did is they installed a new tube and they had it where in the stem instead of going straight up it went towards outside of the round so in that case it wasn't touching anything does that make sense?
@@hewitt7501 i use harbour frieght but put pvc pipe over the tyres and they last forever maybe you could go to a retread place and get them to put a storng type of rubber on your tyres
@@callummurry7218 Yup I was thinking of using pvc sleeve but for better traction and a longer lasting tire I might wrap it with the rubber used for roofing.
I just bought that same tire at harbor freight and id didnt last 1 drive down the street the hub broke off the tire and had to drive it back with 3 wheels
Just finished my go cart build and put some $7 ones on my fronts to replace the dry rotted wheels. Over 30mph the whole cart starts shaking LOL hahaha it's so sketchy and fun. The tires are wearing down very quickly but I'm going to go back and buy the bigger ones for $15 each and see lol. Make sure you retighten your wheel nuts when taking breaks.
DO NOT BUY THESE TIRES FOR A GO CART!!!!!!!!! The damn things will break at the hub! Do you want to be going 30+mph when that happens?? These are meant for wagons and wheel barrels. Had it happen by the way, about shit my pants! 🥴
