Really depend what you mean by cheap. $10 china made hair dryer from shopee can be too hot. Can be too hot to touch if u use for 15 mins. I brought it to take for travel but told myself never buy any hair dryer below $25. $25 to $39 hair dryer with brands like Panasonic, Philip, etc are quality enough to me. Take me about 10 mins to dry my hair. Cool setting still have slight warm air. Dyson my favourite if only i can afford. I brought a China made Dyson copycat and never return to my other hair dryer due to the speed. I only take less than 3 mins to dry my butt long hair. I paid $60 for the copycat Dyson. When i get home i even use it on cool mode for the ultra cooling. More cooling than a fan. Zero heat in cool mode. Hope it help. Btw i only tried the Dyson in salon and gym. Because i like it thus try to find it's copycat version.
