Great video ! My wife and I had a mini break in London last month (our first trip away together alone for many many years) and stayed at the Premier Inn Hub at Goodge Street, which was super. We travelled to London from Newcastle by train having bought a Two Togerther railcard. We had a great time, so on our return I booked a trip to Edinburgh for March 2023 and once again picked a Premier Inn Hub hotel, this time at Haymarket. at about £160 for 3 nights in one of their larger sized rooms .. quite a bargain. We are looking forward to the trip. I am already thinking about our next trip away .. York or maybe Glasgow are the possible options .. it's just a pity train journey bookings are not available yet for May or June. The railcard lasts 12 months, so we may as well make use of it.
Please tell everyone that wifi is free everywhere. From hotels to transport, walking in the streets, pubs and restaurants, although sometimes to get the password you may need to ask the staff but again, its all free.
Cars: you must keep a window cracked 1 inch Pens can explode in the auto. Give the car a minute to air out with two doors open before starting the engine. If you immediately turn on the A/C you may shatter the windows. Don’t leave people babies elders or pets in a car during heat. Death can result
I’m in zero humidity SW US. Evaporative coolers work well for us. You can dump some ice in with water - soooo nice. It’s best to run it in the morning before it gets hot. It’s harder to cool it down once it’s already hot so preventing extreme heat is more efficient. Every window has a covering - curtains or something. I have used flattened cardboard in a pinch & even just put clothing hangers with clothes on them over the windows. Here the sun is so intense it can ruin the fabric color so I only use white clothes (or bath towels). Absolutely no indoor oven use - barbecue only. Drinking water very important.
No indoor oven used. Barbecue outside only . several jugs of cold water in the fridge at all times No outdoor physical labor in the heat of the day, early morning or right before sunset. Heat Exhaustion is what they call a cumulative problem. You need time to properly cool down for several hours if not a couple days. Every window in my house is covered with curtains. In a pinch you can flatten cardboard and shove it in there. I’ve also usedBath towels on clothing hangers hung above the window. Our sun is so intense here(UV rays) It will pretty much bleach any fabric if it’s exposed to the sun long enough. I also unplug any unnecessary appliances and leave the lights out. Every little bit helps. I’ve even had to put shade cloth over my regular garden because it’s just gotten so intense lately.
