Been playing for 6 months now and had my first pitching lesson last week. The lesson really helped me improve my distance control using 9 and 11 o'clock swings. Currently playing with a set of cheap ram wedges that I brought of facebook marketplace for £10 so these would be a massive upgrade for me.

Just started playing again after 15 years So rebuilding my bag with second hand sets. Love this channel and them 3 wedges would look awesome in my bag

Wedge play , one the most important aspects of the game, I practiced, practiced and seeing my handicap slowly dropping 19 to a 16 handicap this summer, thanks to wedge play. I could use more wedges in my bag. . Thanks

These would be a a huge compliment to my game. Currently only have a pitching wedge and sand wedge. As previously said before, I'm using borrowed clubs until I can afford my own. These series is perfect!! Opened my eyes to what I should be looking at. Keep up the good work!!

I dropped 5 shots this year just from switching from the 60* to using the 52* around the green. Instead of flopping like Phil I'll just bump and run it up. Worked on putting too and now I actually get up and down a lot.

I’ve been looking for a set of wedges from a charity shop, just started playing again recently and love the old school clubs. Happy not to conform, haven’t conformed all my life, ride a motorcycle etc. 😎. Keep up with the videos Simon, really good, didn’t even have the internet in my day! 🤭 So learning a lot from them. played the best golf of my life this year and a massive part of it was my feel shots with my 50*. i gained the ability to hit that clubs any where inside 110 yards. unless i really needed to get it up quick or was in the bunker i used my 50. best feeling in the world to be able to get those low checky shots locked in.

I love my 52 as well!! When you sneak in a weekend off - Eastjet to Florence, Down to ourplace, red wine and golf a Antognolla!

Great advice makes perfect sense i currently use just one 56 degree wedge myself and not very good with it so figured i would wait to get a set when i improve. Unless i get lucky with these of course!

Great info! I didn’t realise some were non conforming. I’ve just started out and bought second hand clubs but have no wedges. At least I can search for a set of conforming secondhand wedges that I can use all of the time! 👍🏼

Ive just bought a new cleveland custom 52 wedge off eBay to replace a vokey i left in a bunker a month or so ago. You'll know the ones, blue green or gold with matching shaft. Taking it out tomorrow, feels a little heavy but looks great. Can't grumble for the price 🏌️‍♂️

I just started playing a couple of months ago and really love it. Right now I’m using clubs I got for free at my dump with no wedges. Would love to get these wedges so I can further progress in my gold career

Also still need to find a good putter to go with that. I'd love to see how to fit a putter, if you fancy doing something like that.

Hello and thank you for the good information you provide both experienced and novice golfers alike. I’m just getting back into golf after retiring and could make good use of the wedge set. I’ve found getting set back up in equipment can be extremely difficult financially. Thank for the knowledge about wedges you have already provided, and for the wedges if you choose to provide those also.

I think I could use a set of old Callaway wedges. There's nothing like having to replace a ball because you ripped the skin off of it! While I've been playing for many years, I've not been able to purchase a full set of wedges. This past weekend, I wondered into a thrift store and found a 56° wedge amongst a pile of trashed clubs. It looks like it's been played only a few rounds and never used from the sand. It cost me $1.50 cdn. While the grip is as slick as a politician, it has a True Temper shaft and is forged. I printed out a protractor and then bent it down to 52° to fit between my 48° pw and my 56° sw. It required a little re-profiling of the sole which I took care of which the bench grinder and then the buffing wheel. While fall is approaching, next week looks relatively warm and I'll take it to the course. Oh, and it has box grooves!

that's a real eye opening video for me . I struggle with a full wedge so bump 'n' run an 8 iron usually, unless I take a wedge , and then bump'n'run an 8 iron! grrr!

I remember watching Tiger, Sergio , Phil, and Vijay play the wedges that were supposed be too good to be fair, and they got screwed almost every time from the fairway. The ball would land within 3-4 feet from the hole and spin back 50-70 feet and they would have to chip back on the green so they could try to putt! I just wanted one wedge shot to back up, just a little bit!!

Great video Simon. I could really do with some wedges tbh, I've only got a PW at the minute and i really want to step up my approach game. Thanks for the tip aswell about striking the ball properly, I end up leaving alot of my chips short and that is exactly why. Will try to keep my hands further forward in future.

I'd love the wedges. Only wedge in the bag is a pitching wedge. Working on my short game with just a pitching wedge is frustrating.

Many wedges have been declared illegal. My Cleveland CG 15 wedges with “zip grooves” are among those banned. Question why if some new wedges can be rusty to impart more spin while others cannot because they impart more spin. ??????????? Crazy. Explained later in the video. Thanks for clarifying the difference and necessary practice to master wedge play!!

Great content. I've been playing for about 1 year and still have the shanks on a lot of wedge shots. Full swing is better than half swing though.

Finally some real world advice for average and new golfers: Learn to hit the bump and run shot. Use your 50 degree or lower lofted clubs and learn to hit knock down approach shots.

To be honest I have never had or used wedges, well the only ones I have is a pitch wedge and a sand wedge. I should really get some wedges to close the gaps between those to clubs, and even using the cheap illegal Callaway fordge wedges would be good, as I only play for fun and looking into these would help me loads... just saying, keep up the good content, always good and useful pointers

I’d love a set of wedges!! I’ve bought 4-pw and a 3 wood and a putter but I love my short game and need some loft! I always have to use other people’s lob wedges and I always feel guilty doing it. I’m so close to breaking 100 it’s getting tedious but I feel like a safer higher lofted club would help loads

I agree I've stopped taking full swings with wedges. For me L to L swing with my 60 is 75yds with my 54 is 100

Had 52*; 56* and 60* set of X forged with Mac Daddy grooves. Stopped using them as they just chewed up ProV1’s on full shots. They even spun back 8-12 feet out of rough.

I love my Cleveland Byron Nelson 50th Anniversary 60 degree wedge (It gets me outta the sand always!), but I have been struggling to find a good 52 degree for approach shots tho... the wedges on this video might help my game big time.

I am struggling to get my golf going! I am going up and down with second hand clubs and hand me downs. I need a set of wedges but really can't afford the new expensive wedges! I constantly try to build up a somewhat decent bag but it's really difficult as a student. I buy the cheapest gear I can find and I've been fooled so many times because I believe I can buy a second hand driver for $40 and it's going to be okay, just to find out I made a stupid buy again! I really would appreciate a set of wedges as it is my biggest necessity to fill the gap in my bag at this stage.
