“Never clean anything that you have a perfect opportunity to clean today, when you can postpone it to be cleaned never in the future” is the motto of this channel, I think.
Hey Jake, I know it's not gonna help now, but if you ever have that window switch issue again, it's a really easy fix! I had that exact issue, and it turns out there's one weak solder connection in the window switch that fails every time, so you get a soldering iron, remove the window switch piece, open it up, solder the one pin, and you're done. It takes a bit to get to but it's a piece of cake. I saved myself a lot of money on that one.
Very cool little Mazda. You’ve got yourself a nice little fleet there. Miata, Buick, BMW. Now you just need a little SUV or truck to haul your junk around. Keep up the good content!
Flood victim early 90's Manual 2wd 4.0L Rangers are dirt cheap, just picked up one for $250! Runs and drives, looks like he'll though, and the first thing to do is strip the interior and go to town on the inside with a pressure washer, including the seats!
My 2015 Cx9 has that same stupid fake key nub. I had a suspicion that the tech was pretty old and confirmed it. At least this system is better than the slip your key into the dash predecessor. Thanks @100percentJake for putting out fun, interesting, snarky content.
It's a win, but eventually you may want to take that back panel off and add a little more clearance to your dremmeling. Don't want to RIP the stitches off that "nice plush armrest".
Hi Jake, sweet interior upgrade. I have a '06 Grand Touring and I changed the center console, etc. to black. I wish I had know about the NC3 cushion console. Where did you get the parts? I can't find LPQ? Thanks, Bill
So you would to make it right you would need also radio panel and that middle back part behine the seats. Also is changing door tirm is p&p so it need additional pieces or modification?
Never seen that clip visor hack. I went from a 2007 to a 2010. Just about every little complaint I had with the 2007 seems to have been taken care of in the NC2 version. Well. Except the visor. So far mine is still fine in the 2010. The upgraded console does make a difference. Nice job.
I was thinking about that gap between the radio/climate control and the new center console that you could simply put a piece of somewhat dense black foam there and it would look pretty good.
Just to clarify, the silver bezel (circular piece) around the shifter is the same between an auto and manual? I'm assuming the NC1s had this piece more curved and the NC3s had it flat?
I’ve done exactly the same as yourself with the NC1 to an NC2 centre console, however the electric window switch does not work the windows. I’ve tried a new switch, but still doesn’t work. It only seems to work with the old NC1 switch, but that switch doesn’t fit in the NC2 centre console. Any ideas? 😊👍
Do you o umever just stop and think 'Wow. I have fans. And they root for my successes. That's awesome'. I think that's pretty coolhow you can go from nobody knowing who you are really, since before you were just kind of John Ross's camera guy and helper/sidekick. Then you get your own channel and you get fans. Like people root for you. Maybe you don't see it that way. But I root for your successes.
Cool. My wife's NC we got in May is also 2008, PRHT GT. But with about 100k less miles than yours. Have you done the wiper stalk mod to get variable intermittent?
Apparently there's something appallingly wrong about an automatic (NC) Miata? Yes, yes there is. My wife has one and it make me want to drive it into a wall every time I'm in it. An option that should have never been available. I'd send her this video but then we'll have another discussion about how learning manual from me is a horrible useless experience. LOL.
So, did you score any brownie points with your girlfriend for fixing her car? Cool normal every day guy's approach to a video. Not a single trap bass music track in site. Later, man.
