Idk if you have done a lot of park side teardowns but this peaked my interest. I have a Lidl 5 mins from work which I usually frequent for my lunch. The middle isle is a dangerous game XD
I suggest you hold stencils in place and mark surface to be engraved by wiping a permanent marker across the stencil. Engrave the ink-marked surface. Poking the engraver tip through the stencil will quickly destroy the stencils.
I wish I hadn't watched this, I feel cheated as the one I bought on Wednesday was marked down to £5. It actually works better than I had expected, it's not on a par with a dedicated engraver with multiple chisels but even at the £12-15 price it would still be reasonable value.
@@JulianIlett I bought one on a whim then after trying it went back the next day and bought another which was the last one they had. Pleasantly surprised that it works so well although deep graving takes several passes.
I brought one of their mains ones just because, turns out it's great for writing key numbers on keys at work that I've cut so I ended up having a real use for it.
I watched this within minutes of it going live. Went down to Lidl the moment they opened in the morning, scouring the shelves for these things. Sadly there were none.
In my experience, Oil/WD40 is the worst thing you can use in a lock. It attracts dust and just ends up gumming up the lock. Proper dry graphite will not usually clog things up if you use it sparingly. It will usually only clog things up if you use excessive amounts, or if youve previously used oil or WD40 on a lock and had that residue in it, or if you use cheap graphite powder that is not fully dry. Anyway, just my experience. Those engravers were likely marked down in price for a reason. They obviously didn't sell at the normal price, or they had a high failure rate and needed clearing out. Might be fine for short term use, but I wouldn't get one expectign it to last. Still, for the price you can't complain too much even if it only works half a dozen times
I'm guessing carbon ceramic for that button rather than graphite, since graphite would likely wear down fairly quickly. Whereas carbon ceramic would be self lubricating, super hard wearing and very low friction, but as I say, it's just a guess🤷♂️
Think yer cute, eh? Taking lessons from Micheal Anderle? When an author overdoes the 'delayed reveal' like that, I write them a scathing review. Consider this yours. Once or twice works. More than that is annoying. (Anderle is famous for not only multiple delayed reveals - with annoying drivel as filler instead of a decent plot point - but he even has his characters joking about it in the book.)
If you think it's graphite check for electric resistance. Could be some hard plastic as some of them have have low friction. A steal at that price. EDITED due to stupidity of giving the price away.
10:53 price: 2 £/pounds i honestly didn't give a toss about the price mate, i don't use £, but the mind-game made it hard to focus on ANYTHING ELSE you said in the video. I refuse to rewatch.
