Hey Andy, good tips on preparing the tool. From the jewelry example you showed, your skills in make and designing continue to increase. I thought it was beautiful. Really nice work. The very best, Rick.

Thanks Rick, "Jack of all trades, master of none" that's me. I love the folks that say they are "Experts", they are often good for a laugh. I'm sure that you'll have met a few. I just do the best I can, Hi Hi. All the best . . . Andy

@@AndyDaviesByTheSea Oh yes I have. A supervisor stop by the phone office I was working one day. This guy actually said that the phone company had hired him because he had never made an mistake. I immediately blurted out "Are you in the Guinness Book of Records?" I still laugh! All the best!

Hi Rick, I love it!! I’ve also met him once or twice. I reckon the man that never made a mistake never made anything! Whenever someone apologises to me for getting something wrong, I always say, “Don’t worry, I made a mistake once.” It always gets a laugh and put them at their ease. As a man with 73 turns on the coil I can’t tell you how many mistakes I’ve made, but I usually learn something from them. All the best . . . Andy @@AllAmericanFiveRadio

Hi, thanks for that. I've found out that RU-vid are letting Adobe video editors upload to RU-vid again and that's a big help for me as otherwise I had to use two different software packages that simply made editing a pain. It was easier to upload from a phone be that had other problems. All the best . . . Andy

Many years ago I worked on a big thermal deburr machine and occasionally I had to go out and change the gas bottles myself. It ran on a combination of Oxygen and Hydrogen and was lit off with a marine spark plug. The bottles were all left handed thread and we had to use a special adjustable wrench/spanner made of solid brass to eliminate the possibility of a stray spark. Even so, I was always as nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs whenever I had to go out and change out those bottle racks.

Hi there, well I have to say that I would always preferer to work with high voltage than high pressure gas (or fluid). High voltage is fairly predictable but I have seen two very scary incidents involving high pressure pipeline problems. I understand your nervousness, everything's OK until it goes wrong!! All the best . . . Andy

Nice little small torch, yes it is a basic kit that arrives fully assembled, with you needing to do the final operations. Good idea with having spare ones, as likely you will find the stem seals on the knobs will leak, and the hose wear out. Neither of those easy to fix, though the stems just use a small O ring, so you might find a correct sie one to replace, with a tiny amount of white lithium grease to lubricate the stem.

Hi, I'm sure that you are right but at the price I just had to try it out and it's great. I'm only a hobby jeweller so I don't think I'll wreck it too soon, if it only lasts a year I'll be happy. Regards . . . Andy

Great video! Another video with some information about the oxygen concentrator could be useful for anyone looking to use one for this purpose. Is there anything in particular one needs to be mindful of when looking for a oxygen concentrator, like flowrate or so?
@AndyDaviesByTheSea
@AndyDaviesByTheSea 5 месяцев назад
Hi, all I can tell you is about the experience with what I have. The machine simply has an on/off switch and a flow regulator knob. I don't worry about the flow regulator, I simple leave it wide open and adjust the flow with the knob at the torch. I'm just finishing off the next video which you might like to see. All the best . . . Andy

This looks like a great little torch for the money. I am now wondering which torch to by. Either this type or an HHO torch setup? Anyone have any thoughts on these options?
@AndyDaviesByTheSea
@AndyDaviesByTheSea 5 месяцев назад
Hi Peter I like the idea of the HHO torch and I have played with HHO (making it) but only in a very small way. (Boy, the flashback potential is dramatic, it'll jump through almost any normal arrester!!) What I like about this little torch apart from it's surprising capability is the simplicity of propene rather than MAPP gas and the ability to use it with my oxygen concentrator (which I already had for glass bead making). Getting acetylene in the UK is costly and not having to think about bottled oxygen is great. In the next few days I'll be making a video showing a comparison between my Sievert jewellers torch and the little torch. If you already have an oxygen supply why not get one of these very low cost torches an try it, you won't be disappointed. Like you, I'd be interested to hear about HHO torches for jewellery. Regards . . . Andy
