It's not as powerful as I thought it would be, but it works very well. ru-vid.comUgkxGjG43--gYqIoT4Xkur2PqCrtbKwTv2h6 There are three options to circulate air, and best of all a remote control for us lazy people. Installation was a breeze (no pun intended). It actually took longer to open the box then it did putting the side extenders on and sitting it in the window opening. It's a perfect alternative when you want airflow, but not the AC. Just might order another one for a different room. UPDATE: Bought another one like I said. They work great. Why not have two...

Believe me your idea changed my room temperature. I am delighted. Last night it was around 30 degree census temperature outside but for me It's cool inside my room. I used two fan in two different room but the fan which i used to bring cool air inside my room worked best. I used 12 inch fan which is enough to cool my room. I use another table fan to spread my cool air around my bed which worked as air curtain. Thanks for your innovative experiment.

Actually as you can see in temperature graph, during daytime, outside temperature is more than inside just using ceiling fan helps. During daytime exhaust fan is not useful both inward or outward direction. For daytime cooling I recommend using heat reflective paint which will drastically help reducing daytime heat coming from roof amzn.to/3jlfcXA

I suggest to use unidirectional fans, Fit one at lower level from ground (max possible) driving air inside and second driving Air out of the room at highest level from floor (ground) As of now I am using only one fan, but thinking of adding one more to drive the air out (faster results)

Exhaust fan usually draws out hot air from the room to outside. What is needed is a ventilation fan, which will pull or draw the cool air from outside and an exhaust fan on the opposite end which will drive away the hot air outside. Or the fan which u have installed on your window must have a duel mode...... And another valid point hot air normally rises up, so to drive it out the exhaust fan should be fixed at a higher level. Just a suggestion from my end....
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia 2 месяца назад
Initially, I purchased a dual-mode fan for this experiment. However, I encountered two issues: inadequate airflow and excessive noise. After multiple trials, I opted for this fan and installed it in reverse, addressing the issues you mentioned. Therefore, the factors you mentioned were indeed experimented with, and the final solution is presented in this video. Please do subscriber my channel 🙂

Two way fans are made by local companies and metal blades, they are noisy. If you see my video, the experiment began with the 2 way fan, but later I returned it due to high noise and low air throw and went with खेतान branded plastic one way fan which has good air throw and low noise For 2 way local made fans, they give reverse switch to change the direction Just an example of duel direction fan where you can see the direction reverse switch amzn.to/3wnF6jr

If you have a bathroom attached to the bedroom and has an exhaust fan, keep the door open and run it , to send out the hot air. In addition, you can attach an exhaust fan to the window opening to bring in fresh, cool air thro' bedroom windows - it will immediately start chilling the room. Spraying water in the room with an empty Colin Spray bottle will further bring down the temperature

What about setting an exhaust fan in another room of the floor to blow outside, and the one in the bedroom (as shown in the video) to blow inside. Will it pull more cool air inside? What is your opinion on this ?
@TrekBookIndia

Yes, but the rooms must be interconnected to each other without any leakage path
@jaiaero2010
@jaiaero2010 2 года назад
Very good experiment, thanks for the great work. This experiment will be really helpful for those who can't afford AC and it will help mother nature too. As Celling fans using the same air in the room it increases room temperature and CO2 level also get increased over the night. So here the important thing is we need to expel the air inside the room. I am proposing like we can make two exhaust holes on top both corners of the room the hole size as like in kitchen. We can use two exhaust fans one for fresh air inlet and another for outlet, so that we can ensure the same exhaust air not circulated back through inlet fan, here the distance between the two fans are important. So, the main advantage of using the exhaust fan we will get fresh air all the time. We can cover the holes outside with mosquito net to avoid mosquito and insects and we can use steel grills for safety purpose. Sometimes the inlet air drawn by 9 inch exhaust fan many not be sufficient. In that case, we can use only one exhaust fan to expel the air outside and we can keep another hole open, so that as usual by using our regular celling fan we will get fresh forced air inside through the inlet hole. As per law of equilibrium once we expel the air from room automatically the fresh air will get inside the room to fill the vaccum created by the exhaust fan. If you think this idea has some sense, I Kindly request you to carry out experiment on this and post the results. Thank you.

4 wings plastic fan is good since it throws more air and makes less noise compared to the metal fan I have tried both metal and plastic Check for product link in video description, it's the same fan I am using... You can go for same brand bigger size fan

Thanks for sharing the suggestion to slide the windows down for few minutes before turning on A/C. I wish an cars have mechanism to turn on automatic exhaust when temperature inside shoots up. We can be sure that it is sunny when this happens, so coupling it with a solar powered system should work. Perhaps this could be an ADD-ON by vendors before it becomes accepted by car manufacturers

Very good experiment.. Just wanted to know, will it not help better to reduce temperature, running fan in opposite direction due to passive cooling ( Thermodynamics)
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia 2 года назад
I tried that... Problem is that room temperature is high and outside temperature is low, so we are driving hot air out from room, but then since the bedroom is big it's unable to cool the room effectively. Also having fan driving air inside brings low temperature air (almost 5 deg low) directly on bed which creates comfort while sleeping. These are practical observations... Being a mechanical engineer and worked so many years in R&D I have always experienced difference in theory and actual feel.... I am not sure if I am able to convey you... But for me the inward direction worked good 😊🙋

i think you should try this.. 1. check for thermal leakage points in ur room. outisde heat should not enter the room via windows,the window channels and grills. they r the first points of convection 2. once room is thermally insulated, place 2 exhaust fans one in the direction of natural outside airflow(south direction) and another in north direction. pull the air inside from south direction and let another exhaust pull the stale air from inside and throw it out from north direction. this creates natural flow of air in the room. 3. choose an exhaust fan which has higher airflow lower power consumption like the atomberg bldc fans. if there is problem pulling air from south direction then connect a high speed inline duct extractor. that way u can also eliminate fan noise. 4. u can actually use a power efficient bldc motor in an air cooler and let it generate its own cool air, while one of the exhaust fans can replace the stale humid air thereby efficiently reducing temp

Thank you very much for your detailed suggestions ☺️🙋 As on now I am getting satisfactory results with the makeshift arrangements done for the video... So just continued to use it... Let's see as the summer intensifies if I need to put one more exhaust fan or not 😎🌞
@manashsaha2312
@manashsaha2312 2 года назад
The exhaust fan experiment was efficient during the day but I will say it was quite inefficient during the night. I will say a more efficient setup during the night would have been to keep all the windows open and putting another exhaust fan on the opposite end of the room to trigger airflow this way cooling at night would be much more efficient and the room would cool to the outside temperature by the next morning.
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia 2 года назад
This I have tried... Believe me it won't work... Finally I am able to live without AC this summer with thus setup... Only thing is I live in pune where temperature outside drops surely at midnight... 🙋 Being worked in R&D over 30 years I have learned that many things ghat we assume based on theory do not work out practically... Similarly here practically what works that I have shown 🙏

Interesting hack! I have a question for you here pls, I have a room which has very good AC flow coming in, I plan to make a gypsum partition up till the ceiling with sound proof partition walls; however this will ideally block the ventilation... Will it work that if I put an exhaust to both sides of the walls aligned; so from one room cooling will pass to the room with no ventilation because of the partition? Also, will it be the same cooling temp as the room with no divider? and what if I put 2-3 exhausts on each side to let the air flow in? looking forward to your reply; thanks in advance!
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia Год назад
You will need 2 exhaust fans fitted in such a way that one fan throws AC air in partition room which is at lower height and other fan which takes back warm air from portioned room back to the AC room for cooling Alternatively you can try to use only one fan to push cold air in partioned toom and keep big hole in partition top which will push warm air back to AC room.

The exhaust fan creates negative pressure inside and it is sufficient to pull the cool air from outside from the windows. So another inlet fan to let the air inside is required?
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia 2 месяца назад
The factors influencing the choice include room size, window size, window placement, and the number of windows. Consider a case where the room has 2 windows one is small and one is large 2x. Now outside is 25c and inside is 30 So should we put a big exhaust for the inlet or a big exhaust for the outlet ? Or other way? The question I want to understand is should we blow out the hot air more or should we take in cold air more. I hope u can get my question
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia Месяц назад
You've got the right idea! In your scenario, to cool the room most effectively using an exhaust fan, you'll want a larger exhaust fan for the outlet (blowing hot air out) and a smaller inlet (drawing cool air in). Here's why: - Hot Air Rises: Hot air naturally rises within a room. - Pressure Differential: By creating a stronger exhaust at the outlet, you'll create a lower air pressure inside the room compared to the outside. This pressure difference will draw cooler air from outside through the smaller inlet. Thinking about airflow: Imagine the exhaust fan as a giant vacuum cleaner sucking out hot air. A larger outlet fan will create a stronger "suck" which will pull in more cool air through the smaller inlet, creating a more effective circulation of cooler air.

As I understand, you have AC in bedroom and want to use fans to get chill from bedroom... This won't work and will increase electricity bill.. If you are in non coastal location then best way for hall cooling is to use air cooler If you like the content of my channel please do subscribe since I get only 100 subscribers per month 😅

@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia 4 месяца назад
@@naveenreddym6137 While your idea has some logic, it won't be very effective for cooling the hall and might actually increase your electricity bill. - Limited Cooling Effect: The cool air from your bedroom AC is limited and pushing it out to the hall with fans might slightly cool the space but won't make a significant temperature difference. - Inefficiency: Fans will continuously work, consuming electricity without efficiently cooling the hall. - AC Strain: Your bedroom AC will work harder to maintain cool air, leading to higher energy consumption and bills. - Alternative Solutions: - Portable AC Unit: More efficient for cooling the hall if budget allows. - Tower Fan: Better airflow circulation than exhaust fans, positioned strategically for effectiveness. - Air Cooler (Non-Coastal Areas): Cost-effective cooling option if humidity is low. - Specific Fan Idea: Using exhaust and intake fans wouldn't effectively cool the hall due to limited cool air source and temperature transfer limitations. Circulating cool air with a tower fan or exploring alternative cooling options like portable AC units or air coolers would be more effective and energy-efficient solutions for cooling the hall.

Very nice description and I really appreciate... But sir I am having a query until and unless the hot air wouldn't go out side from room it may create humidity.... what's your opinion.. Actually my room is almost same as your but there is no space to install exhaust fan on any wall only a sliding door window.....
@TrekBookIndia
@TrekBookIndia 2 года назад
I have installed it on my sliding window only, although it's temporary arrangement, it's working successfully since 15 days I agree that hot air should go out from room, hence I keep the balcony door open and close the curtain, if you see in video I have shown curtains closed with V shaped gap on top from where the hot air goes out.. Again this is temporary arrangement but working fine till today. In sliding window I have fitted the khetan fan just by pressure of sliding window and upper gap is closed with an acrylic sheet which was lying idle with me (pasted by Cello tapes)
@mukeshrawal6036
@mukeshrawal6036 Год назад
My understanding only: One important point is hot air is always near ceiling so we need to remove that air. So exhaust fan should be as up as possible. Here again depends upon room size you should increase power of exhaust fan.
