I’m trying to put a bag together for my teenage daughter. She’s only played three rounds, but she’s really enjoying the game and has been coming with me to top golf for about a year. She enjoys getting the hybrid clubs that I have in my bag as well as the four hybrid at Topgolf. We don’t have school teams, but she and I are enjoying the time together on the course.

Great channel. Very refreshing format. Returning golfer around 12 handicap, had lessons and was advised to use stiff shafts. Got to the point where I was really able to shape the ball when I wanted to, and used AP2's but there's never a point when anyone ever says "It's time to use MB's or blades etc" I wonder how many people sit on the edge using the same types of clubs, and plateau with their game. Happened to me, and progress stalled, and took a 3 year break, and now i'm having to start again. Same forged type of clubs bought off eBay, same comfy driver, and maybe slipping into the same mindset.
I bought a second hand odyssey two ball white hot under 5$ incredible putter and added a super stroke grip making the total price under 30$ so Odyssey’s are definitely a good starting point for a putter
For the guy wanting the F9 or speedzone, I highly recommend looking at the Cobra LTD or LTD pro depending on your level. On the same GOAT level as the M2 imo
Love this dude. I'm finding myself spending alot of time on ebay at the minute being stuck at home for the majority of the day. I nearly bought a titleist 983k today for 30 quid but I was worried it isn't the right club for me, no1 picked it up and it's been relisted so Im going to try get it this time. Please don't bid against me folks haha Are titleist DCI irons any good? Seems to be alot of them in decent nick for as cheap as 50 quid. They always sell and more always get listed.
Lesson learned. I clearly missed a bargain. And one of you is a twat. And I'm an even bigger twat for commenting about the club. Knew i shouldn't of, damn.

I looked for months for a 3 hybrid Callaway Razr X to match my 4H. I got lucky and found the 3H on Golf Avenue for 42 bucks including shipping! In the market for a wedge now. More difficult for people like me though, I'm a lefty.

Hi Simon, Great video again. I enjoy your analysis of used equipment as I'm building a set for when we can start back again. I am a high handicapper that's been away from the game for 10 years and planning to get back to it this year with a serious plan. I am 60 and already have Callaway X-20 2-LW with Uniflex shafts along with the Hyper X driver and FW's with Regular Flex Graphite Shafts. My putter is an Odyssey White Hot Saber-tooth. I've picked up a set of Callaway Prototype 6-PW ($85USD from eBay)in good condition for range practice and X Hybrids 2-5 to game with my set. My plan is to practice with the Prototypes while I develop my swing (I will be taking lessons) and contact at the range. Once I feel confident, I will blend them in with my X-20's to game with, and phase out the Hybrids with Links play as I get better. Then the long-range plan will be to gradually get fitted for Irons and Woods if I can get my handicap to under 18. Does that sound like a good plan? Any comments or suggestions? I've been looking into Wilson Staff 888 and Infinity lines of putters. Both have milled faces and are reasonably priced on Ebay. For under $50, I also like the Yes! Victoria II - the pricing is kind of all over the place on them though and I've never hit one before. On a side note, I picked up an old Tour Edge mallet putter for $20. because I'd only played a blade before. Figured I couldn't really go wrong for the price. I've only got to take it out once but I enjoyed the feel of it. There are definitely good finds on putters, you have to keep your eyes open and do a bit of research.

Simon, you need to buy a set of these irons, "Adams cb1". I have been playing them for a decade now and they are just superb. Should be a really good deal online. P.s. 10 years on the mat black finish is still looking good, cheers.
Bought a hardly used p790 7 iron 20 quid inc del , as changing my irons when all the course restrictions are lifted , and these on my look at list , so. Can give it a go over a few weeks

Hi..really enjoy your videos particularly the reviews and eBay buying advice ones. Not sure if you do video requests but here goes. I'm looking to take up golf again but with so many manufacturers and so many different club makes and models, it's difficult to know what clubs would best be suited to different players. EBay have ping, Callaway, titleist iron sets for @£50 (assume really old sets) but are they suitable for a middle aged mid handicapper not wanting to spend too much in case it all goes pear shaped. A video recommending particular makes/models of clubs would be really helpful. Keep up the good work and keep safe.
25 handicap. Swing speed is good. Looking to fill out my bag. I have a Cleveland HiBore XLS 5 wood that I cannot hit. I'm looking for either a 3 wood or hybrid to fill out of the long end of the bag, and wedges to fill out the short end. I have a 48 degree pitching wedge that came with my irons, but the next club is a 56 then a 60. Looking to spend less than $200 on everything.

Great content Simon! General question...What advice might you have for improving the golf swing and getting better at golf for a hobby golfer? (someone who practices nearly daily) Lessons? If so, what type and frequency? I’m sure individual goals are a major factor but let’s say it’s someone who is willing to put in lots of physical effort and the least amount of cash!
Hey Simon, hope all is well, love your videos.... Isolation day 21 i think, golf courses are shut down in Minnesota USA so I'm drive 2 hours south to Iowa USA to golf 3 rounds this weekend.... Can you please do a video on good exercises around improving body rotation.... I'm 6'5" and have a 6 hdcp but i struggle tremendously with rotating my body enough; to put it in other words: "if you picture on baseball field, I can rotate my body where my back faces 3rd base but I've been told I need to rotate my body where my back faces 2nd base." This is a huge struggle for me with a tight back and minimum flexibility. This also leads to a loss of power and errant golf shots.. What do you recommend on how much you should be rotating and what drills/exercises I can do to improve that aspect of my game. Appreciate what you do and wish your family well!
I kitted myself out 12 months ago when i started playing, at the time I just bought what I liked the look of (mainly Taylormade) and what I could afford. I am now wondering did I buy the correct clubs for me and my swing! Is the only way to find this out is to go for a club fitting even though I don't have any intention to buy anymore clubs? My clubs are: TM M4 driver (stiff flex), TM M2 3 wood (stiff flex), TM Rescue 21 degree (reg flex), TM M2 4-PW (Reg Flex), TM Hi-Toe 50, 56, 60 wedges, 2 Ball White Hot putter.

I just want to add two things learned from your previous videos and other resources: 1- I kept my eye on searching and watching auctions and was able to secure brand new cleveland HBC1 putter for $40 include shipping(it goes for $99 in stores now ).. it took a few weeks, but there is nothing else to do now. 2- for the guy who asked about the missed irons, there are website like www.ironfinder.com/ where they sell individual irons and they update regularly.
Would be interested to hear your thoughts on the difference between ~10 year old irons compared to a new set. I have AP1 710’s and have been thinking about an upgrade, but can’t see the benefit. What do you think?

34 hcp need to fill gap between F9 Driver and Speedback irons which start at 6 iron. Currently have Benross 5 wood and hybrids but looking foe more help.
Another great video Simon, I’m left handed and looking for a driver . My current “big chief” is a Mizuno ST180 went to a Ping demo day at my club and loved the feel & forgiveness of the G410 driver but I can’t afford £390. Would you recommend a Ping G or Taylormade M2 ? Ps I have in my garage (left hand) a Titliest 915 5 wood , Titliest 913 hybrid & Mizuno EZ 4 iron all regular shafts. I just started golf about a month and a half ago im already pretty decent my scores for 9 holes is usually in the mid or lower 40s. And I can prove it, I think there needs to be an updated video on specifically irons cause the prices of them have tripled. We now see x22 irons going for 300 no less than 200. I've seen them for as high as 450

Looking at a Taylormade driver, probably M2 unless you recommend otherwise. I have a problem slicing the ball, would you recommend adjustable or D type? Anything I should be aware of when considering shaft? I’m a bogey golfer. Thanks
Hey Simon, great idea with time on our hands why do the research and shop around. I have been fit 2yrs ago for a complete bag by my pro, but now I’ve improved enough to move from game improvement irons to better bats. So I’m building a second hand club bag. So far 2 ball odyssey putter $130, Mizuno MP25 (wow what clubs) $300, Srixon Z785 driver $240. Still looking for wedges, fairway wood and maybe hybrid. I’m a fussy bastard so these clubs are in mint condition where my mates ask if they are brand new. I find Mygolfspy a great place to see what rated well a few years back to get a direction to head when looking. Thanks mate.
