There are multiple variants of this and some are really fireproof but some are fake and it is really low quality. The fake ones are not even fireproof as they claim to be.

@@LVFiretech Except ABS plastic. But this one does not look like it has ABS and just some rather cheap plastic. The genuine ones by System Sensor and the genuine ones in China are much better.

They're not fake for the country that manufactured them, probably China in this case. It's TECHNICALLY a real fire alarm device, just a very poor imitation of an American one.

TheCarson116 incorrect! These are NOT up to code for being a fire alarm device as these are non-ada, do not sound loud enough and isn’t a good quality alarm.

@@pvh_facp4001yt Every country has different standards for everything, including fire protection systems. This alarm is probably code-compliant in whatever country manufactured it, China most likely, while it obviously is not in other countries.

Personally, I find this "fake" fire alarm quite preferable. I have Autism, and when I even see a real, loud fire alarm, just hanging on the wall, it kinda scared me... I find those loud ones to be way scarier even than an actual fire, they tear up my nerves and damage my hearing, and even after evacuating they still sound like a loud vicious nightmare... I like these, they still alert you to a fire, alarming sound, and for me it's plenty loud enough.

First of all this is a "second knock off", it's a knock off of a Chinese product also made from China. This one may be considered a knock off of the SpectrAlert Classic but the original Chinese one, other than it's horn and strobe arrangement looks nothing like the SpectrAlert classic. Secondly the original may not meet requirements in other countries but it does meet Chinese requirements. It is also much more durable than this one.
