Brad M. Carlson, better known by the stage name Bun E. Carlos, is the original drummer for American rock band Cheap Trick. He recorded and performed with the band from 1973 to 2010 and remains a member of the band as well as a co-founder, partner and long-time drummer for the band. He is also the band’s archivist of photos, posters, video, and audio recordings of all the bands shows. Bun E. was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016 as a member of Cheap Trick.
It’s rumored that Bun E, short for Bunezuela, hails from Venezuela where he learned drumming and where his father was an industrialist moving around South America. His family was instrumental in the building of the Panama Canal to which Bun E, who is fluent in English, comments, “That was a long time ago.”
On June 24, 2016, Carlos issued his first-ever solo album, Greetings From Bunezuela!
In this epicsode, DC takes his show, Barside Jive to historic Mary's Place in Rockford, Illinois on October 25, 2016 to hangout with Bun E. Carlos, legendary drummer for rock band Cheap Trick. This year (2016) proved to be a BIG year for DC as well as Bun E. Not only did Bun E. and the other 3 original members of Cheap Trick, Robin, Rick & Tom, get inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame but Bun E. released his very first solo album, "Greetings From Bunezuela" available on Amazon. Bun E. is the coolest dude ever and I am blessed to call him friend. So, grab your sticks or even a fly swat if you got one and get ready to play along with the famous Bun E. Carlos. 8-) \m/
