yellow-ish vanilla here in the US is usually French vanilla, which has a stronger flavor powered by the vanilla beans ps: cheap ice creams usually don't melt as fast since they are made with junk sugar-subs, fillers & conditioners instead of just cream, sugar & milk. In the US it is not allowed to be called "ice cream" on the package if it doesn't have a certain % of dairy.
