I can see if you're a detailer and worry about dust but here I am wet sanding a whole damn car and polishing the whole goddamn don't care about dust. Great video otherwise
Another great comparison! I’ll stick to M100 since I don’t see it vastly improving the time it takes to get the job done or the end results. Keep them coming. You’re helping the community way more than some of the people that promote “only the best and most expensive will do”. Ah-hem Matt OG
Jason Holder of course they do that lol. That’s how people sell the “I’m a professional” and their outrageous prices to their clients. If people really stopped to think about how easy, affordable and doable this is right at home they’d never pay someone else to haha. But as long they keep paying I’ll keep detailing 😅
@@davidmorales7371 you are a idiot I have seen many idiot's like you trash there cars cause they think they can watch a video and do it there self takes years and experience you lack knowledge.
@@clawmachinetime955 I get your frustrations, but there's no need to offend people on this community or comment section really , instead of fight them educated them is the best response . (Dwayne Johnson AKA The Rock) once said . In a world where you can be anything BE KIND
I appreciate Jimbo as much as I appreciate Matt of OG garage .@Jason Holder Jimbo an Matt are two different person completely different content they both contribute to the community an industry on there own perspectives I agree with you sometimes prices can give you a turn off but there's things in life made premium for a reason if you don't make premium products people will not strive for more for that reason no goal settings there's a market for everyone
im sorry but any polish that "dust" alot isnt worth it there are tons of compounds/ polishes that dont dust as a pro when you fully correct a car and its covered in dust and the only way to quickly remove the dust is to wash the car again vs a non dust all you need is an ISO wipe down and straight to coating time is money brother im more of a fan of the sonax compounds at the end of the day
i bet using m100 with your da and a foam cutting pad you could handle 2000 grit wet sand scratchs if you moved da slower on panel... then finish off with m 205,
I have been using meguiars for years and just picked up some m110 about 2 weeks ago and love it. Like you said a little more expensive but it’s a top notch product 🤘🏼
Switched from M85 to M100. (I work on boats) M100 has been cutting really well on heavy oxidation with a rotary with wool and finishing really nice on a dual action with heavy polishing pad. I use this the exact way you did in this video and get great results. M100 is my money maker and work horse.
Hey! My city just cut all of our trees, and I park on the street, My car is COVERED in tree sap. Some of it has been sitting for upwards of a week, and its really hard to get off. What is your best Method of removing mass amounts of hardened tree sap??? Thanks!
KiddoTheSkiddo DupliColor makes a panel prep/body solvent “Prep Grease and Wax remover” that will melt just about anything off your paint. It’s pretty intense to work with, definitely use it outside or with lots of ventilation. Rustoleum also makes a similar product but I find it’s less effective. It’s called “Wax and tar remover.”
I didn't get the dusting you did on DA. Maybe was that a brand new pad? I did have an issue with brand new pad on first panel of the foam dust coming off, but when I switched to a used pad it didn't dust at all. Also after first panel/area with new pad the "dusting" was gone. But I get the foam dust with new foam pads. Lately I've been running a brush Iver the new foam pads while running on machine to kind of break them in and get rid of the foam dusting. Seems to help.
Yeah I used to think anything I used dusted. Now I just run a bush over the pad mounted to my polisher at low speed for a bit and let the foam break in a bit
Hey Jimbo!!! Going through all your videos and other fellow Detailers that you are friends with ( Brian, Pan, Scott... etc) and was wondering if you ever mixed product?? For example I mixed Meguiar’s 4 heavy cut with Ultimate Compound to reduce dusting. Do you?? Please make videos of your “go too” mixers Cheers
JIMBO'S DETAILING 😂 you need to understand that you have a vast following of different people. Some people are jerks but some others are here to actually learn and improve!!! I am a “Novice “ and trying to improve my craft and have been contemplating on taking a course in P.A by “ Apex Detailing “
Confused ! when you say “ cutting “ what does that mean , not polishing its cutting ? WHAT , I’m new to this, I’m retired and plenty of TIME on m6 hands , TKS
Lol I know this is an old video but I'm glad to see the self deprecating idgaf honesty hasn't changed. "Also I went to three different stores and couldn't find any 1200 grit sandpaper" The truth eventually comes out and it's usually a funny self dig.
It's not very often that I agree with every statement someone says in a detailing video, but you nailed this one Jim. Having this comparison for reference is huge. Now I'm wondering - since Meguiar's is boasting M110's work time and finishing ability, how does it stack up against D300? I would assume similar characteristics but with less cut.
Is Shine Armor better was thinking about getting it. I already have Griot's wax and detailer plus Meguairs Ultimate product I used the Meguairs Ultimate on my truck but it still didn't shine a lot but I buffed it by hand mostly. I do have a polisher but it is more of a orbital palm polisher I don't have the one you have in the video but thinking about getting one soon in the store. Maybe this week I could get one.
Well the rupes random & DA polishers put out 3,000 to 4,000 rpm on my lowest set setting. Does that mean its not for me?🤔 I was informed a microfiber pad gives a better result.
Hey Jimbo! Great comparison and clearly understand that what would i use for the product But i still confused, for this compound should i do just 1 time or i can take 2 until 3 time? And maybe you know about limit for every step polished Thankyou 🙏
Im trying to use the M100 on my car. I have it for 3 years but never done anything like that on the car. Can i just wash it and put this on? Then finish with the turtle spray wax? Anybody?🙂
Great video, based on what I saw in your video I got the 110, and the results are terrible It’s like I have used absolutely no compound Didn’t remove Im even the swirles I have a 2012 Camry with normal swirles and scratches, any idea why this product doesn’t work whatsoever for me ? I’m using a Ryobi orbital with a microfiber pad Looking for ward to hear your opinion if you could thank you very much
i would say its most likly your machine. If the one you mentioned has two handles, then its def your machine and you need a dual action machine or one that has forced rotation. Stay away from rotary, but something with more power will help a lot.
@@autodetailingpodcast the rotary i used has no handles, I even tried without the rotary, just a microfiber cloth and the compound and still no results. Thank you for your response, I appreciated it
its a bit weird because the 110 combo with microfiber pad cut and remove swirlmark flawlessly on my w204 mercedes paint which is known to having a hard factory clearcoat.. it should work better on japanese car because their clearcoat hardness is on a moderate level.. and i use a bauer 21mm DA.
Do you recommend using a cutting pad before using a foam polishing pad?? i have the m110 and i noticed with the foam polishing pad it doesn't cut deep enough to get 2000 grit wet sand off, or water spots. i feel like the 110 needs a cutting pad to actually get 1200+ grits off. shit even with the foam pad i cant remove all swirl marks.
For best results when leveling 1200-2000 grit sanding marks, wool or microfiber is going to give you the most cut, a foam cutting pad will work also, but it might simply take longer or require a second pass, the good thing is that foam usually finishes better than wool or microfiber.
Jim, another terrific video as I am about to buy the 110 and 210, then apply the Meg ultimate wax. From what I read, Meg introduced the 110/210 with intention to reduce dusting for detailer’s respiration safety. Keep in mind, I never ever compounded a car, hence why I’m here watching and learning! Thank you again!!
With all the modern newer compound in the market right now, having a dusty product and hard to wipe is a nuisance, needing extra step to clean it later.. other modern compound such as from 3d and sonax produce almost no dust and easy to wipe..

That was interesting. This video series is really helping, i have crappy little car but i do love try to get it looking good and your helping fill the cleaning shelf.
Hey can you try on your metal panel if you sand it then spray clear over it if it will remove all the scratches? I've tried this with 5000grit sand paper on card board it did look to fully remove any defects but there is no depth in my simple cardboard spray paint with two layers of clear
Thanks for this. Been using 100/105 for years and just as most are , anoyed trying yet another product esp mags. I love Mags, but stop changing stuff. I do love the 300 paint correction tho. Works amazing for light defect. Great video man thanks
I was looking for a quick 1-step to clean up my pearl white G35. Tried S20 Black, Jescar Correcting Compound, M300, and M101. Ended up going with M101 on my Flex 3401 paired with a LC Hybrid cutting pad. Cut and finish was great! Surprised M101 was still working strong. I've had this massive 32oz bottle for 8 years.
I do alot of paint correction and alot of 1 stage compounding for a living and m101 foam cut compound is a great product, i have 4 gallons of it in my garage.... compound pad and a 21mm da and it cuts and finishing down to a near perfect finish, kicks up alot of dust tho.
Why are you talking my so much. Do the product demo and stop the chatter. Your polishing all over the place and your giving it a Terrible representation.
