Robert, I had to watch this video three times because I was too distracted by that Blue eye look to pay any attention to what you were saying!😹🎻 I need a good effortless inexpensive Cerulean Blue like that! Oh it's just so pretty!💞😻 That 3ina blush reminds me of Stargaze from Lunar Beauty, but just a touch different. How does it compare to that one? Oh bother, I may have to get it anyway, so pretty.😹🎻 When you say yellowy bronzer, do you think it would work on an Olive complexion? Most bronzers turn lurid shades of Orange, so I just avoid them, though as pale as I am, there are days I'd like to not look like I'm using SPF Fluff Off PA++++. Not sure if my ramblings are making sense, as the heat is starting to be obnoxious of late.

@@jojomarch have you tried using contour as bronzer? I am not as fair as I was when I first started wearing makeup, and I didn’t know what bronzer even was until 2020(I am 43 if that tells you anything 🤣), so I wish I could give you some recommendations.

Drugstore only for me as well, as it's in my budget & there are good products, as you can see in this video & countless others. Also, I look at it this way: If a product is 4x the price, is it 4x better or even close to that margin? Usually not. So, even if my budget were to increase, I still couldn't see myself spending the extra money (I love a good bargain!).

Agreed there are so many brands that are super inexpensive that give you excellent results so why spend the higher prices? The most expensive makeup I ever bought was a $60 eyeshadow palette from another RU-vidr but it is really good quality so I’m not too upset. But in general I am super cheap about my makeup. 😝

To the extent that high end in the past meant you were getting more high-quality ingredients, perhaps it was always better; but these days, the drug store brands are even upping their ingredients and improving their formulas to "dupe" the higher end brands. But I just rarely SEE the difference.

I loved this! I love watching how you use these products. My budget is very tight. Always happy to see good reviews on that. Some cosmetic products ARE worth the money . I just cant afford them. That said, Im learning no matter what product cost wise I use its all about using them correctly! Also, these days there is great selection of cheaper cosmetics. Ty! Again!

I can’t lie, the rimmel powder is always going to be a favourite for me due to the price of it! It’s so cheap! Not just that I have found with my skin type my foundation and concealer will look great for quite a while!! It could be because of the primer I use, but either way I think it’s such a steal!!

Btw, speaking of dyslexia, it warmed my heart to realize why the ciaté London royal edition palette has all royal themed shades, except "spectre," which I read as a synonym for "ghost." Realized the other day, it was prob meant to be "scepter," but a dyslexic-type error occurred. And nothing bad happened, there was no embarrassing scandal, no one mocked them, or any of the things we sometimes hype up as the terrible consequences of typos. In the world of eyeshadow palettes, glad ciate had the good perspective to just let it roll out...

I think the Rimmel powder works better for non-oily skin textures, so that might be why it didn’t sit so well on your skin. I have normal skin with a few dry areas and I’ve used every powder under the sun and will forever come back to that one, but my oily skin buddies absolutely despise the product!

When it comes to powder eyeshadow, I have a lust-worthy collection, BUT nothing compares to Bobbi Brown or MAC singles. You cannot even come close to those colors at the drugstore. The formulas are also top notch!

my only upset is that in Australia especially, the drug store (I work at) prices for these supposedly "affordable" options are only $10-20 less than high end....I recently purchased the Estee Lauder Double Wear for around $60AUD and my Loreal Skin Tint which I also use for work, is $45AUD....?? It's insane that these brands are becoming no longer affordable as they are meant to be

Love the background Robert ❤ I found that the L’Oréal tinted serum foundation is a good dupe for the Armani luminous silk and the new Revlon luminous foundation w skincare in it is a close dupe to the Makeup by Mario foundation. If u have any of these I would love to hear ur opinion on it. Also I love that Milk concealer in a darker shade to use as a light foundation. It’s stunning ❤

Hi Robert. I took my daughter into a beauty shop in Edinburgh, where we can now buy most high end make up etc. She walks over to Pat Mcgrath makeup, finds a red lip stick she loves and says Taylor Swift wears red. Sales lady hears her and told her this is the lipstick Taylor actually wears and only uses Pat Mcgrath. £32 for it...i nearly died. Thank goodness we got 15% off. Ps i like both sides 🩷💜

Loved the video! I confess I fancy the NARS foundation, looked so natural for full coverage and you needed so little. LOVE that Mina blush, not got anything from Mina. I treated myself once to an Iconic highlighter on your recommendation before and its the best I've ever used. My favourite affordable brands are MUA, ELF, Nyx, and I sometimes like Barry M’s unusual colours and stuff. I’m also a big fan of Rituel De Fille. I’m not sure if Glisten Cosmetics count as affordable or expensive? But I like them too. I really don’t have much experience with other brands! I’m working on it slowly 😊

For loose powder I really love the no7 translucent powder & their beautifully matte foundation is one of the only things that stay on my nose. Maybelline superstay full coverage also. Both better than the Mac studio fix IMO X

I've been a fan of Rimmel products in general since I discovered them years ago. Some pretty good stuff and extremely affordable. I would love to try that MUA Academy foundation, I finally got liquid foundation to go on nicely. Apparently my skin only likes the beauty blender for liquid foundation. 🤔

I am guessing it's not available in UK but if Juvias Place is a brand you can get, I think that's the most Robert-friendly affordable eyeshadow EVER. I bought the Rebel Army quad for $5, 50% off at ulta, and omg how are those shadows so budget-friendly? The spring green shimmer is so bright and so unique, I'm in love, theres also a matte & a shimmer dark olive green, and a forest green matte that is incredibly easy for every day makeup, but stands out from all the browns and greys. Since it is a Black-owned brand, the formulas are made for deeper skintones ofc, and despite a very comparable price point, they really blow away the competition with vivid and ultra deep colors, and incredible brightness in their shimmers (pan to eye, the shade looked 100% as vivid, and I have deep set hooded eyes . I think you'd find the POP that can be missing in drugstore shadow.

I still have the theory that makeup from brands known for fashion (YSL, Dior, Chanel, etc) is crap. I haven't seen one that was good. That has nothing to do with this video, but the "expensive" thing made me think of it again. So yeah. I'm going to go have more coffee now. Great video as always, Robert!

Hi Robert! Loved the video, as always! You made a crappy day much better…regarding your product question, I just tried a Burt’s Bees product…the Illuminating eye balm with Vitamin C. It is very similar to the under eye corrector from BECCA that was/is very popular. I love the Burt’s Bees version even better…it has a lovely radiance to it, and looks great by itself or under concealer. Now, I have MAJORLY dry skin due to a chronic illness, so it may be a bit emollient for oily skinned people, or if your under eye area is more hydrated than sand, but I do know that despite having shadows under my eye (again, chronic illness) I have been told by makeup artists that I don’t need concealer when all I am wearing is this Burt’s Bees eye balm!! It is the only product that has taken care of my under eye area so well! ❤❤❤

@@RobertWelsh It’s amazing, and about $18 Canadian. However, it is only available in one shade and I am so fair I am almost translucent! I think it would work for you, as it is very peachy, but it would be very bright. If it didn’t quite work by itself for those who are not super fair, it would still be amazing under a concealer! Still, got to shake our collective heads at brands that can make an amazing complexion product, but cannot vary the pigments in the product to obtain some kind of inclusivity!!🤦🏻‍♀️

I also have ultra dry skin, partially due to my GI disorder, dehydration & poor nutritional absorption. Gold Bond has 2 new facial moisturizers, a pure moisture somewhat lighter one, and a super thick overnight retinol one, both have urea as the main occlusive, Dr dray did some videos, and it has transformed my skin, healed my moisture barrier, & visibly plumped my skin. It's insanely cheap, but I have tried over a dozen facial creams this year (all for at least 1 month consistently), and this beats many wonderful creams (Kate sommerville, Saturday skin, the $100 golden carrot balm, Kat burki, tarte, korres) AND has a very luxe feel and appearance, but no fragrance. Highly highly recommend. USD$18 for 16 oz...amazing price point for top level inkey list

For my super fair skin Pat McGrath blushes are beautiful, they build so I find I don't go in with too much and mess up my makeup. I am obsessed with the shade nymphette, it's a cool pink with a warm golden pearl in it. So it gives my skin life. The other expensive product I cannot do without is the Chantecaille blurring powder. It's like magic the way it sits on the skin and doesn't highlight dry areas. I wait for the yearly sale towards the end of July to get it as full price it's too expensive! For more affordable makeup I'm also obsessed with Beauty Bay eyeshadows and have been since they launched their first palettes, their lip products are really nice as well. One of the best eyeshadow formulas was from BH Cosmetics so I'm hoping when they get round to releasing a new palette MUR hasn't altered their formula at all. It wasn't just good for a cheaper brand it was just really good.

Okay, this video is 12 days old, BUT, I love the cheap side, you look a lot brighter and smoother as a whole, although the concealer does look the tiniest bit drier under the eye. And also, that little fold by your nostril is called your nasolabial fold or crease❤
