i have a rotary from amazon, i paid 20 US for it back in 2013, its still running just fine till this day, ive been using it about twice a week or more since then.
One machine is swashdrive the other one is direct. There is a big difference between! Swashdrive is softer and need more voltage ot bigger stroke to have power. I prefere direct. Hits harder on low voltage and you can control needle by your hand. Sorry for my bad English!
Tattoo machines are pretty simple... Theyre pretty much just a electric motor connected to a push rod and a battery. At some point you get diminishing returns on spending more money.
I can agree with that to an extent (excluding the really crappy rotary machines using brushed motors with sloppy tolerances). They all do the same thing, especially in the rotary machines. Even the motors run at similar speeds with similar torque. The main difference you'll see is in the durability of those motors. Most of the high-end machines use german, Japanese, or swiss motors, whose production cost is more than the cost of most wormhole machines. These motors will (usually) outlast and outperform those low-budget machines easily. Can a cheap Chinese motor last a long time and perform well for you? Sure, but be mindful that sometimes they don't just "die" suddenly, but instead, they start to lose power/speed over time. Once that happens, you may as well throw that machine away. It's not worth fixing.
Hello, I have a question Has the battery been working well for you? Another artist did a review and commented that the battery would suddenly shut off in the middle of the tattoo session.
I would have to assume it's the Pro Orion as there is no other tattoo machine listed on their website with the label "Pro". Also, depending on what stage you're in when it comes to tattooing, I just picked up the 119.99 kit, and it's great so far. So if you're just starting maybe go for that, if you're more adept, definitely go for the Orion and just buy all the other supplies you need on the side.
