Thrashed? We comfortably saved the follow on, with one of our tailenders getting 99, and then it would have been New Zealand players and fans sweating throughout the final day, not Australia's. Rain had saved New Zealand getting thrashed in the first two tests, so the hapless kiwis certainly didn't deserve to fluke a series win on account of getting first use of a road through the sheer luck of a coin toss in what now effectively amounted to a virtual one-off test, rather than a proper series.
