If delusion was a person. I do agree that we shouldn’t own people, that’s called slavery, but we do hold on to people promises. Word is bond and if you choose to have no standards in a relationship I guess you’ll be hugging trees with homegirl.

I don't see the problem with what she said. If someone cheats they are exposing their own character and letting themselves down. It IS about the shortcomings within them. The only thing you can control is how you react to it.

Cheating is “cheating” because it’s a person going against their mutual agreement of exclusivity. Everything else she mentioned, while true just isn’t relevant. I’d agree that treating relationships like ownership and personalizing cheating isn’t a good practice but to conflate that point to negate the definition makes no sense. If you and I agree to something and you go against it, that’s not the time to try to have a philosophical discussion after the fact. “Well I didn’t cheat on you. I just slept with your best friend…, I don’t belong to you. Even though we agreed to be exclusive, me betraying that has nothing to do with you…” like cmon fam🤣😅

Hm, I think of it this way: you belong to someone when you're in a committed relationship, exmple marriage, and that person has a responsibility iver your well-being. While I do agree people are going to do what they're going to do, that initial commitment, that vow that binds a man and a woman together makes then belong to one another.
