Great results, your ancestors seem to be from everywhere😊. In Africa you seem to be largely from the Senegambia region and the Sahel, tribes likely to be Mandinka, Akan, Mende, Fulani, Wolof, Hausa, Soninke and Susu, Yoruba, Igbo and North African Berber (Morocco)etc, try Gedmatch which is free where you can check for Africa tribes etc, just check the box which says do not share your details with law enforcement 😅 Your hair is beautiful by the way and your skin is just glowing.
So funny that this popped up in my feed because I was just think about doing an ancestry dna test. The communities feature is cool! I also have roots in Guyana and Barbados
Nice video and results ! I love how excited you are about the African parts ! I’m Caribbean as well 🇭🇹. And I just wanna let you know that if your a Black Caribbean, your results are not going to show up as “Caribbean”😂. Our ancestors were forcefully brought to the Caribbean islands as slaves from West Africa by the European colonizers to labor on plantations. We’re not native to the Caribbean. However, when we became free, we formed our own identities and cultures. Also, that European percentage you got is indicative of our ancestors getting SA’d by the slave owners on the plantations😢. Idk what island your family is from but read up on the history of your island and it will all make sense to you !
How do you know that the DNA Test is not just picking up where her family migrated. Their are Africans living in Europe. Why is her Caribbean descent not being picked up? It's all dubious, partial truth with a lot of fallacies...
@mariepearl-harbour2335 it did pick it up, as a migration pattern but not a DNA percentage. And you people who say these things kill me cos you will trust the exact same DNA technology to identify killers and its never questioned but you question this cos half the time it doesnt show what you want to see.
Stumbled upon this video....waiting for my results...I'm adopted and 40 plus and curious. Know a quarter is Irish Russian from maternal grandparents...my mom mom the one that raised me has polish irish...look like her so polish maybe. It's neat finout. What ever your roots kiddo your beautiful
OMG THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I really appreciate this!! I hope your results come in soon and you’re able to get more clarity on your background!! Trust me it so interesting when you first get your them back and so cool to see!!
I got a lot of these connections as well. The funny thing about this test is that after getting the results, my uncle, who is my biological father's brother, who did the same test, didn't automatically connect to me. I did find out why, and that is because my daddy ain't my daddy. So now I'm left with more questions than answers. Hopefully, you continue to have a better experience than I am thus far because the very people that I know of who took this test didn't automatically connect to my family tree.
That's a capital "i" and not an "L", so it's "ivoire", which is French for Ivory. In English, It's Ivory Coast, just as Ghana was once called "Gold Coast". Congrats on your discoveries! I hope you enjoy learning more about your heritage. 🙂
Baby I couldn’t read my results for over 17 months because I had a car accident that caused a brain injury and I understand a little tiny bit better now. I’m from Guyana 🙃🇬🇾
Wales is the UK or Great Britain not England. UK/Great britain is England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. I live in England but im black and our DNA results are very similar minus the english and welsh DNA.
Oh for sure!! I wanted my reaction to be authentic, so I waited till I got home to film the video to open it on camera!! And let’s just say when I was finished with the videotaping I was a very proud peacock for the rest of the weekend 😆😆😆!!!
The natives of the Caribbean are mainly the Carib tribe. However, the Arawak tribe (also called the Taino tribe) was the first tribe to be encountered by Columbus (a Portuguese explorer who was funded by Spain). Their native DNA is in some of us Caribbean people to this day, especially in people from Haiti 🇭🇹, the Dominican Republic 🇩🇴, Puerto Rico 🇵🇷, Trinidad & Tobago 🇹🇹. These natives are not forgotten by us. There's even a Carib festival and a statue of Hyarima in Arima in Trinidad. If you look at the national coat of arms of Jamaica 🇯🇲, there are 2 Arawak Indians on it. Yes. We hold on to them because some of us are their descendants and they will not erased from history. 😎
Taking genealogy DNA tests has hands down been one of the best things I’ve ever done. I’ve learnt so much about my roots. Wasn’t expecting to find Scandinavian, Russian or Jewish in my DNA! Where did your European roots come from? Was that something you grew up learning about?
Funny enough my grandad always said that we were part Welsh (so from Wales) but we were never sure and just laughed it off as like a family joke but it turns out he was right 😆!! I’m considering doing the family tracking option on Ancestry DNA to see if I can find who in the family the European DNA started with!!
