Hey that's a nice guitar but also some stellar playing, very nice approach. How Great Thou Art was my grandfather's favorite song, and that alone deserves a subscription. Well done!
Henderson kentucky. Is that the free bluegrass fest in the river front park. Your playing is wonderful and the guitar sounds fantastic. Keep playing and continue to be an instument of gods peace through music.
Nice , Have you ever tried the Martin Monel strings on this guitar ? I run the ( Mediums) 13-56 Tony Rice on my Apex Custom guitar ( Very similar to yours ) .
Thats a nice sounding box. That laurelwood sounds like it has some of that rosewood sparkle. Nice playing as well. Stumbled upon your channel after listening to an unreleased Norman Blake album. I subbed and I'll look forward to hearing more of you. Greetings from South Florida. Cheers!
Once again let me say that paticular instrument really sounds good . Oh how great thou art is just beautiful. In your opinion what are the advantages of indian laurel as a back and side wood ,as compared to rosewood,or mahogany,or even walnut. I realy have never heard of laurel as a guitar tone wood. Once again will you expound on what kind of braceings patterns are used on this instrument.
You would have to ask the guy that built it more about the bracing patterns. www.clinchfieldinstruments.com I just wanted some guitars built out of unique woods to be able to hear the difference. I think the guitar speaks for itself. I wouldn’t call them advantages just differences. All the guitars that Frank has built sounds great. Maybe the builder maybe the wood or a combo but I’m pleased with the Laurel. I think that guitar has probably the most sustain of any guitar I’ve played!
Nice guitar, nice tone.. dry, woody, resonant, balanced.. Great playing..Does this have forward shifted scalloped bracing? Bone nut and saddle? Bridge pins? 1-3/4" or 1-11/16" nut? What strings and gauge do you use? What thickness is the TS pick? Love the sound of your TS pick. .. Your string height looks low.. What is your string heights at the 12th fret? Great bluegrass sounding instrument.
Thanks. Yes it’s forward shifted bracing. Probably could describe it as custom forward shifted bracing. It is bone nut and saddle. 1 11/16 and I use most of the time , phosphorus bronze elixir HD lights, which is half medium half lights. I’m not sure on the string height but it super comfortable.
Each guitar is very custom but I’m sure you could ask Frank for a quote on just what you are looking for. He has really good prices! Clinchfield Instruments on Facebook.
