The SEAT Leon Auto Hold function is an extension of the electric parking brake and, offers you more convenience and extra safety.
This feature assists you when your SEAT has to be stopped often in situations such as climbing hills, traffic lights, or dense traffic with intermittent stopping. You can easily activate this advanced SEAT feature by pressing the Auto Hold button.

Assuming an automatic / DSG Leon; would this allow you to come to a stop at a traffic light , hit this Auto Hold button, and then not have to continously keep the brake pedal down? Curious, because one thing that annoys me greatly, especially in Winter (the dark) - is all these cars blasting bright brake lights in your face when sitting idle at a traffic light. (Or you know....implement logic so that the brake lights go out or dim when the car detects it has been sitting stationary for ~5 secs....)

Hello, I have a question for you, I would like to ask you if when you press the automatic handbrake button and the car stops uphill then if I do it again with the car still running from before it stops or you have to risk the button. Thank you so much for your understanding and thanks in advance.

However, I live in Italy in Milan and I would like to buy a seat Leon stationwagon in the Lombard motor dealership in Milan. Confused about this function, When stopped on a hill, and in 1st gear ready to go(Manual Gearbox obviously) which means clutch must be depressed fully, is this right for auto hold to function? while reading owners manual for my Leon FR is says do not use 'clutch control' as it may do damage. but surely you have to use it to pull away without stalling? Can you help?

The clutch control is exactly the same as if the car had a manual handbrake. The auto brake will engage no matter if you are in gear or not. You then pull away the same as you always would and the brake will let go as you start to move. You might notice a slight snag for a fraction of a second.
