Located in Perryville, Maryland, the $250 million project, which plans to be completed and open to the public in 2023, will hold 700 family-friendly suites, an indoor water park, a family entertainment center, dining options, and conference facilities. A 700-suite hotel and 126,000-square-foot water park, the 20th for the company, are expected to open in middle-to-late 2023 at Chesapeake Overlook, next to Hollywood Casino Perryville and just off Interstate 95
Great Wolf Resorts (formerly known as Great Wolf Lodge) is a chain of indoor water parks. The company owns and operates its family resorts under the Great Wolf Lodge brand. In addition to a water park, each resort features restaurants, arcades, spas, and children's activities. Great Wolf Resorts is headquartered in Chicago, Illinois.The resorts' mascots are Wiley the Wolf, Violet the Wolf, and Oliver Raccoon with additional characters like Rachel Raccoon, Brinley Bear, and Sammy the Squirrel. Great Wolf Lodge began as a small indoor water park resort called Black Wolf Lodge which was founded in 1997 by brothers Jack and Andrew "Turk" Waterman, the original owners of Noah's Ark Water Park in Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. Black Wolf Lodge was purchased by The Great Lakes Companies Inc in 1999. In 2000, president and founder, Craig A. Stark, and the team changed the name to Great Wolf Lodge and the company headquarters were established in Madison, Wisconsin. In 2001, the company built a second location in Sandusky, Ohio, and named it Great Bear Lodge. When a third location opened in 2003, the decision was made to place all future parks under the Great Wolf Lodge banner. The name of the Ohio location was changed to Great Wolf Lodge in 2004. The chain has since added sixteen additional locations and has one under construction.
On May 1, 2012, Great Wolf announced they were adding a new amenity or attraction to each of their resorts in time for the summer season. In addition, they spent over $4 million renovating the company's first two locations - Wisconsin Dells and Sandusky.
In April 2017, Great Wolf relocated their corporate headquarters to Chicago, Illinois.

The design looks wonderful ⭐⭐and I love🤩❤the interior of the rooms.

The touring was not as helpful as I had thought it would be. It’s the same GWL room that you see at other lodges here on the east coast. No real thought design. Even the same pictures. I understand trying to keep many of the lodges cohesive, but how is it that Chicago has a mini kitchen in their sleep space? Complete with cabinets. The Majestic Bear suite offered in other lodges has a huge dining area that can accommodate approx 6 people. So one room has lots of space while others have practically none for eating. And you wonder why rugs, sheets and pillows get stained. The tour featured lots of talking and no real focus on the lodging. Every aspect of the rooms should have been covered such as closets, balcony, bathrooms, table space, counter space, ability to seat 2 to 6 or more to eat, which is a big issue at GWL locations. Which makes me think it’s intentional to remove eating and food prep space in order to have families spend more and get out of the room for a sit down. I don’t see anything too special about this location. What would have been nice is to see a built in swim suit dryer station. Not only would you help families keep their suits in rotation, but you would cut down on mold significantly!!!! It’s a water park! Thank about keeping things as dry as possible in common areas and sleeping spaces. Sadly this is all the same, only a larger footprint. Are there any villas? loft rooms?

This tour was over 6 months ago while they were in deep construction but nowhere near finished . So yes, the tour featured a lot of talking since many things were not ready to show. I have posted a more recent tour of the actual lodge during construction. Every lodge is different, and though they try and accommodate everyone , clearly you can't please everyone. I will be filming the final product this weekend ,including a room tour of the grizzly suite. I will post at some point in the coming weeks.
