With mass production the price could drop, especially when they get their robots building them in a few years. Americans have benefited from the affordable price of a factory mass-produced car since 1908 with the Model T. It would be great to see what quality improvements and lower price could come from a truly mass-produced house. To put it in historical perspective, Fuller's Dymaxion House (1930) never made it out of the prototype stage, and while Lustron (1948 to 1950) had 2500 built, the problem with that mass-produced home is that it had too many parts which made it overly time-consuming to screw together at the site. Boxabl has put a lot of thought into building an innovative, well-insulated nicely proportioned functional home, and I like the interior a lot, at least in photos. We need a new direction in home building, to make use of new materials and technologies to lower costs and make homes better.

Sounds like a great idea. You still need to own the property to place it on and that cost varies from state to state. Also there are costs to connect to sewer or a septic system and water and power. Should still be less that most other housing. This could be a great Additional Dwelling Unit better known as a Granny Flat.

I dream of having a tiny home so I can get out of the abusive situation I am trying to live through now, but my health took a hit and I been unable to work but your price of $50,000 is cheaper than alot of tiny homes I have checked out and one day I dream to call and get my tiny home. Alot of people might say negative things about it but for the those who have to choose between being homeless or staying somewhere where you're not wanted and you have to deal with metal and physical abuse and pray you make it out alive one day this would be a dream, at least for me it is and if I can ever afford it I will call and get mine! Until then I will keep praying and dreaming and hope one day I can call and get mine! So yes I would live in one in a heartbeat and I think it is an amazing choice for those that need a home and safe place that will be there's and they would have to try to afford an apartment which you will never own and will have already spent that on a apartment rather then a home that is yours! And for those going through things like I am just to have a room and restroom and kitchen would be an amazing dream so it's awesome what you are make. It's gives me hope that I will get there!

However there are now literally dozens of companies doing the same thing for lower prices, and Boxabl still hasnt even provided 1000 Boxabls total in those 3 years. These will become a successful niche product assuming their build quality is in line with their cost. They do have rv trailers and park model mobile homes as stiff competition, the rv trailers often times cost far less, can be setup in less time, don't require any type of foundation and can be towed by a normal pickup truck or large suv. It also depends on how financing works with these fold up homes, I doubt they'll qualify for a mortgage due to how mobile they're (similar to how single widespread can be more difficult to mortgage) but it also won't qualify for an rv loan.
