Hi everyone! Thank you so much for all the love I've been receiving. I'll be honest, I didn't expect anyone to watch it lol. So I mean it when I say I'm grateful. All your comments have made me smile and I've seriously noted the critiques. I'll elaborate more in an upcoming video, but because of the corona virus and the major changes to the thesis process by my department my thesis wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. I am still proud of it, however a lot of time was wasted on meticulous reiterations (I had a total of 14 versions of my previs) and I was still making major changes till February based on the critique of my thesis advisors. I was trying too hard to please and ended up spending time I should've used on animation. Of course I also didn't have access to a proper sound library or a sound design software and worked on the limitations on my 2016 MacBook. In all those set backs considered, my short film still achieved more than I hoped for. I'm so super grateful to those who supported and helped me and especially to those who have watched my film and enjoyed it. I will be continuing my series on webtoon in September if all goes well. Please stay tuned for future videos so we can hang out and get to know each other!

I relate to Reineldis so much, because her relationship with her mother is very similar to mine, especially when I was deciding on college. This is so on brand for a Dominican family and household! I addended your webinar the other day, and seeing your final film right now really shows how resourceful you were with what you had. I really like illustrating and animating, but don't have much resources, and your webinar really helped inspire me alot. I live in a different time zone but I stayed up until 2am just to join your webinar, and all i can say is. You were amazing!

WOAHH this was amazing! I love how the backgrounds are live action and the characters are animated, that’s so cool!

This is so fluid! I think the basketball hitting the ground in the beginning was especially smooth! The soundtrack was really great too! I loved how it has modern rhythms and tone, which I've noticed a lot of animators tend to avoid, generally using acoustic. It was really refreshing and fit the modern setting well.

It is very nice, though I feel you could have put more focus into the animation than just the stylization of the video, it leaves a lot more to be desired and makes it being an animated film feel like an after thought. Would make for a very nice zine or webcomic, but in motion, it feels too choppy, especially with the live action backgrounds still being in a relatively high frame rate.

this is amazing! you can really see there was a lot of effort put into this. this gave me some 'into the spider-verse' and 'My Hero Academia' vibes

i've got to say im really satisfied from watching this! Good job, is nice that u kinda stuck to ur own flow, it turned out really nice. I think some sounds could be added like in the scene with the portal, but that enough doesn't get in the way of enjoying the whole experience

I think the use of a sort of 'limited' animation style within a real background with stylized foreground elements and characters makes everything feel very authentic, unique, and fun, and I'd definitely watch more of it!! Thank you for making this art and sharing your passion and creativity!!

I relate to this animation on a spiritual level, my mom is literally this mom in the animation, she doesn’t want me to do anything we’re there’s even just a 1% chance that I will hurt myself, and she talks this way to because me and her are Hispanic, and I love your style!
