This was a really great tutorial. Finally one with good audio and detail on the topic. I was able to get a basic gui up and running within minutes. I have a question; what I want to do is have my control system model in Simulink and use the GUI to set parameters and conditions in Simulink model. How do I link the gui to the simulink model? Should I be using the Simulink Dashboard instead of guide? Again, great job on your video.
that get function is showing me all the information regarding the selected radio button... update: actually i figured that out, instead of just using *selector = get(handles.fs,'SelectedObject');* i added another line to get the string value *selection = get(selector,'String');* matlab ver: 2015b-2016a
I'm new to Matlab. I was trained in Fortran and Basic that there has to be a master code that calls subroutines. Does Matlab work that way? I ask because it looks like your GUI is the master and is calling functions as required. I can't get my head around the flow. It seems unseemly to code in the GUI portion. Like the GUI should be called when needed. But, alas, I'm old school and trying to catch up to the new ways. Love the nice lady voice!
Great Video! I have a question about the msgbox you give when you select in the button group. For my project, there are A, B and C 3 choices. Each choice has different message I want the user to read. However I did the way you did in the video but only B option gives the message, A and C don't show anything. Could you tell me why this is happening? Thanks for your time! I really like your voice and how you talked :P
Hey, first you are amazing, second i have a problem, i need to create three column with check-boxes, first column has 34 check boxes and you can choose one of them or even all of them, then based on your choices second column will shows up , second column has more than 1000 check boxes but based on your choices on first column it gets smaller, and the with your choices in first and second column you will get the final results in the third column, the big problem is I have more than 1000 check boxes in the second column, you know what i mean, change the name , edit all of them is so stupid , there should be an easy way . . .
