Following the preamp re-pot, I wanted to see if I could tell whether or not any of the filter capacitors in the power supply or elsewhere on the board in the power amp section. They all test fine for ESR, though maybe one of the filter caps is a little higher than typical, that should be fine. The big ones (5600uF/80V) are rated for 3000 hours of operation, and the amp was used at least some before I took over it in 2002, so it may just be that they're getting tired. I might build up a circuit for testing them, but replacement is $32 for all the big-size caps on the board.
