Lots of rain signifies plenty of new life in the mangrove swamps. Giant mud crabs become very active and readily caught in crab traps during the monsoon season of Northern Australia.

I am learning your technique for tying crabs - Brilliant so might one day get to use it. 😀 I lost my Fishing/ Crabbing buddy in 2015 so haven't been out since then. He was my best Buddy / Fishing Mate & Brother in Law we were very close. Great Video Cheers Denise- Brisbane ( my Niece at Garners Bay it was her Dad)

That's dedication to the cause making another great crabbing video in the rain. Just goes to show no matter what the weather you can still get a feed of muddies. Keep them coming. 🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀🦀

Giday mate , do you buy those dillies or do you make them ,I remember as a kid dad and grandad made there dillies even making the .net out of a ball of String many years ago. Gary
@returnoutdoors2210
@returnoutdoors2210 Год назад
I certainly don’t have the skills of your dad and grandad, I buy the dillies. It would feel very rewarding using a crab pot you had made yourself to catch crabs. Thanks for your comment.

I have two questions , how many time did you get bitten before you perfected your method of handling the crabs and does the ice kill the crabs or just stun them .By the way keep up the good work.
@returnoutdoors2210
@returnoutdoors2210 Год назад
I have only been bitten once when I was a lot younger and learnt to treat all mud crabs with great respect. The ice does kill the crabs and is a very humane way of doing it. I appreciate your questions and thanks for watching!👍

What’s the procedure for cooking crabs
@returnoutdoors2210
@returnoutdoors2210 Год назад
I bring salt water to the boil before placing the crabs in. Once the water comes back to the boil I cook them for about 15 minutes. Hope this helps!
