Appreciate that you checked each amp out at various gain settings. Some reviews have demoed just on the high gain default presets. I'm an old player with no room for a gear heavy setup in a small suite who just plays silently now and some recording and this gives me a cheap easy option for an fx pedal with good enough amps an cab sims. Looper is a bonus. More fun than Bias/DAW as there's actual knobs!

It’s a perfect beginners pedal, and also great for home/travel use. A one stop shop for lots of great sounds, plus a looper! I have a hx stomp, a full pedal board, boss waza air, spark mini…and I’m still tempted by one of these. I mean, i clearly have a problem, but still…

This sounds way better than the first version of the video you posted. You could hear the pick attack through your vocal mic before and it wasn’t stereo. 👍

Great demonstration and playing! Are you using the compressor in your volt? Seeing yours reminded me I could use my volt for compression on my POD express since it’s lacking an onboard one.

My use case: Spend a week refining tones for just atleast 4 presets. Use it primarily for open mics or small performances with 50 or less audience at a pub or cafe. Take it with a portable amp like the mini katana, a PA like Bose S1 pro or ..... Bluetooth speakers as makeshift amps (think Marshall bluetooth speaker)

@averagejer Will this pedal allow me to connect it to a set of studio monitors? Will I be able to practice guitar with this pedal, and a set of monitors? If I don't have a guitar amp nearby? I'd like to know if this pedal has RCA jacks in the back that can allow me to connect to studio monitors? So glad this pedal can allow me to practice guitar in stereo!

It does not have RCA jacks. It has qty:2 1/4” output jacks for stereo. This could be plugged directly into most studio monitors. I run it into an interface and then into monitors.

I could use this as a pro with ease. No problem at all. I don't know what would make this a beginner exclusive alone. 🤷

Definitely! I may have done a poor job explaining my point. The plastic build quality doesn't lend itself to heavy abuse and the adjustments are not super precise. A pro can get by with gear much worse than this. John Mayer could gig a $100 Strat and sound better than I ever could. With "professional" gear, you tend to pay for an extra level of ruggedness and repeatability and that was mainly what I was trying to get at.

If you record a di from your guitar, it should be able to reamp it just fine.

How about an experiment? Run the guitar version into the bass version. You get a compressor, octaver, who knows what you could come up with?

There is a distortion setting on the express and you can also use the amp gain as a “distortion”.

I got one of these on line. Didn't take me long to realize the huge limitations of this thing. I found it to be far too over priced for what it is. Tremolo and delay were unusable without being able to adjust the parameters. I suppose a total beginner might be happy with it, but there far better options available for a lot less money. I sent it back.

A liitle late to the guitar channel reviews biz Jeremy? Advice, don't beg for subs and likes at the very start, it makes you look too needy. Flashing across the screen twice through out the vid is much more enticing. I think I will stick with my Moore RADAR for IR's etc. The Pod Express seems to being trying to be an 'every man' which for most players who already have a million pedals pointless?
