It didn't take long for the West to penetrate the iron curtain. Or in this particular case, the Berlin Wall. As you can see, the cultural landmark Checkpoint Charlie, which once separated the free West of Germany from the Communist Eastern part now sits a mere 20 feet from a freakin' McDonald's. At least they didn't erect a Starbucks right next to the Brandenburg Gate. Oh....yeah...........
