Cheech & Chong's Nice Dreams (1981) movie review - Sneak Previews with Roger Ebert and Gene Siskel 

Ebert got it wrong as he says it was Cheech who was mistaken for Jerry Garcia. The scene obviously shows it as being Chong.

“Nice Dreams” is great stuff. I think it’s C&C’s best movie.

I’m not surprised about their reaction, if you don’t get Cheech & Chong you don’t get Cheech & Chong.

I saw this when it came out and didn`t find it that funny..but much better than their next movie the "Corsican Brothers"....

Cheech and Chong did make a movie where they played different characters, The Corsican Brothers. It stunk.

I remember being really disappointed in Nice Dreams because Next Movie was so hilarious.

Roger, reviewing another C&C comedy, cited a drug-using acquaintance who'd told him, "Laughing at stoners isn't nice if you aren't one, and it isn't funny if you are." "It's me, Dave!" "Dave ain't here..."

Sometimes you just love a bad movie. Also had Paul Rubens in his first role.

I guess you need to be high to enjoy this film.

6/10 for me, not one of their best films at all, I personally thought they should've stopped after "Next Movie" as "Up In Smoke" and "Next Movie" were their only really good films.

Hilarious movie...second best after Up in Smoke.

I thought this was an okay movie but definitely the beginning of the downhill slide for Cheech & Chong, this movie did have some great moments but as a whole it was an uneven movie, I give "Nice Dreams" a 6/10, I even thought "Things Are Tough All Over" was a little better than this film.

I was laughing almost the whole scene, and I am not into that " stuff" at all.

I never thought Cheech and Chong were very funny. Even in my younger years when I used to smoke pot. I’d rather watch Monty Python with my ganja.

I agree completely with both Gene and Roger. This is a lazy and terrible comedy. “Up in Smoke” the first Cheech & Chong film is extremely funny. I just don’t think they really tried with this one.
