i used to cheer in high school, i loved competitive cheer and i still enjoy watching the routines. i've never seen japanese cheerleading before, it's so neat to compare the differences to American cheerleading. i think american style has more dancing and sassier movements, but in the competitions i participated in, we weren't allow to do pyramids with more than two levels, so it blew my mind seeing the flyers holding flyers!! also, it's interesting to see that their hairstyles are much more natural rather than the over-teased super-hairsprayed ponytails you see at competitions here.
“Don’t mind us. We’re just gonna make towers made up of only three girls and a front spot and our top flyer is just gonna casually full down.” Just. How.
I'm sorry, but I'm a competitive cheerleader. You don't bring poms to competition, you're supposed to clean before and after every stunt and the jumps are open handed. It looks good as a routine but those are the things that judges will critique
Maybe in weak sauce Amurrican cheerleading. Typical murrican. You think your way is the only way. But this is japan. We are not afraid to get a boo-boo.
These girls are way too advanced for your Amurrican rules, so don't be jealous because these lady ninjas can pull stunts that you and your heavy-boned western teammates never could.
