Precision Productions, is a young in age but old in knowledge music production team based in San Fernando, Trinidad and Tobago, which has collectively amassed just about 20 years in studio time and work experience. Road mixes are for the road, which bring out riddims or parts of a song to catch masqueraders and make them jam even harder, or instantly start to chip. I look fwd to road mixes every year on the road.

Ok so the reason for road mixes was to make the song DJ friendly and of course to hype up the song itself.. A road mix is really like the 12'' club mixes of songs that we played much like what came out in the 80's. If you're a DJ or was one like me, then you will know what am talking about. The first road mix I will say was done by Razorshop in the late 90's. He is a pioneer when it comes to that and furthermore his mixes on Shurwayne Winchester are epic. If you listened to soca in the 80's they were on average 7 minutes long with a breakdown and perhaps an instrumental that allowed DJ's to do their own mixes. Times have changed and songs are now average 3 mins long with no breaks. What Razorshop did back in da day as he worked in the studio where the songs were being produced was to add his spin on the mix that would make it DJ friendly and at the same time create a new dimension to the song. Not may people know what a dub mix is. The 80's was filled with dub mixes of songs that were played in the clubs to hype up the crowd. In those days records might have come with an acapella, dub mix or 2 including a club mix. That was a Dj's dream to create mix sets that were crazy. So anyways that is why the road mix essentially exist today.

The whole point of Road Ready Mixes is just to add more life to an already great song, whether it be by adding more bass, increasing the voices or just smoothening the ingredients altogether for more of an impact on the road or in a fete. Believe it or not after hearing a tune all carnival season long it gets a bit played out and would need a refresher like these mixes. I respect the producers like Dj Private Ryan and Precision Productions who kill em every time!

I'm not from Trinidad, I'm Kittitian so I guess it's really a Caribbean thing. Lol but I hear your views on it though. Not everyone will connect to them and that's understandable. Those of us who do will just enjoy them for you. 😆✌

I believe it gives a different vybez when ur in the actual road march, hearing the original on the radio and on the road would be a bit boring but having a roadmix jus gives u a different vybz on the road, e.g rolly polly roadmix and differentology roadmix dem bhaaaadd
