How fabulous that a British (Gloucestershire) annual tradition made its way to the heights of CarPal! 😲 I wonder how you learned of this unusual activity?
Great concept! Love the debris raining down on the already destroyed cars at the bottom 🙃 Is it possible to make a 'revenge of the cheese wheel' whereby a vehicle has to climb to the top of a hill avoiding Mr Cheesewheel's angry (and colourful!) brothers and sisters? Winner gets a lifetime supply of tyres I heard.
Your videos are always awesome. I would be very interested to see a tutorial type video of how you do the AI pathing and camera pathing. I know the very basics of making them, but your method always brings great results.
I love this so much... maybe someday you try designing vehicles specifically for this noble sport? I dunno, maybe a long, flexible wheelbase to help keep contact with the hill or outriggers to prevent flipping sideways or maybe just a turbo boosted engine inside a giant single tire...
I wanna see... it start a little smoother, so they don't all wreck out right away, but then have the terrain switch to super bumpy when the first one touches the tire! Do it! Please!
as someone from the West-Country of England (where the actual cheese rolling race is from) this may be the best video you've made lmao right proper job mate, good taste of home hahah
Looooving this video - excellent commentary, cannot believe the luck on the second run! Also that sneaky Eurobeat in there.... had me in tears =D Although I'm feeling personally attacked by the Australian cosplay....
started cracking up and laughing uncontrollably when the raining parts of trucks everywhere began, not that the cheese thing wasn't hilarious too, especially the finish!
this is real cool, as a suggestion. you should make an event like these or the other ones you make but instead the cars are actual players, what do you think?
The only thing that could have improved this video is if, at the bottom of the hill, there was a giant billboard with a photo of James May and his cheese...
The Gloucestershire hill cheese race! I've heard the event is dangerous and unsanctioned now, since there are no body workers or mechanics to fix issues, but many cars hurl themselves down the hill anyway! Keep the traditions alive! :D
To anybody who doesn't understand the concept, check out the British cheese rolling tradition. If you like Car Pal's stuff, it's the same deal but with human beings.
