Brian David Gilbert tried with all the BotW recipes a while back, it... didn't go well. That said, BDG, though midnight gourmand he may be, he isn't quite as seasoned a video game chef as Alvin. And he wasn't allowed to use any cheese or tomatoes in that video, so I'd be curious to see how Alvin would tackle such a challenge.

Ive always hated spell components in dnd lol after explaining them to players I always give them the out and say “Would you like to start with a spellcasting focus?” And make the focuses readily available lol ive never had a player turn down the offer. Sorry I know thats not what your post was about but im a massive dnd nerd and wanted to say it. I agree with the rest of your post as well!

It's a lingering mechanic meant as a narrative limitation or story block- you normally have infinite spell components beyond the expensive obvious ones, but they need to have a way to disarm a wizard or witch that isn't completely crippling in the way a dead familiar or destroyed spellbook. The best way to "plot" disable a wizard is to take his bag of components and require him to find more. PF and newer editions make the assumption that when spells are prepared, the user went and found the components or had them in stock, and the GM should only step in for the expensive or difficult to obtain components. Alterself often requires a piece of hair of whatever person/humanoid species you want to turn into, so the player can't just on a whim turn into perfect clone of Princess Rosalinde and demand the guards turn over their wallets.@@lucashayes346

That's just how meat bowls are presented. Alvin has made like, probably 3 or 4 by now lol. And he also made the A5 Wagyu beef bowl from Food Wars.

Cheese is something you have to unlock via a side quest, if you never found that quest cheese would not be in the game.
