Apparently when it comes to cheetahs, if you’re a child or smaller it will see you as prey but not if you’re more bigger. If you’re bigger they’re your friend but still be cautious
Have seen documentaries where female Cheetahs make a sort of chirping sound when they can't find their cubs but I have never heard them meow. Pretty cool.
Oh my!! It sounds like a house cat!! That's it I wouldn't be able to stop myself and I'd be right outta that car to give that big kitty a good ol ear scratch, I dont mind losing an arm 😆
@@redcandi01 not really, cheetahs are the least aggressive of big cats, and if you're lucky enough, you can tame one within 2 hours (meaning it'll fully trust you)
They only meow as adult cat's while living in captivity. Because meowing is an easy way for them to gather a humans attention. They've learned the same trick as their smaller house cat cousins.
I’ll take your word for it. As cool as it would be to pet a cheetah...I think the one way I could is if it were out cold. I’ve seen a few bold people online playing with as lion. They’re a lot more bold than I.
Okami_dt lions are probably the worst cats you can grow in your house. Their primal instincts take over their household behaviour by 1-1.5 years of age. Cheetahs generally show better composure when in the presence of humans. So no, lions don’t make better *wild* pets than cheetahs.
Maybe it learned how to in captivity the same way domestic cats do. Domestic cats meow only at humans or where they think a human will hear as an adaptation for attention and services. He probably learned similarly that if he meows humans will come to him and do what he wants, other than fearing more intimidating noises.
One of the biggest ways to determine whether an animal is a "bigger cat" (like a lion) or a "lesser cat" (like the typical house cat) is the ability to roar (bigger cat) vs the ability to purr (lesser cat). Cheetahs cannot roar, but they can purr. Therefore, cheetahs are lesser cats. They can also chirp like a bird. It's adorable. But still, cheetahs cannot / should not be kept as pets as they are still wild animals.
